Okay, so I had to visit Malindi because of business, so it wasn't necessarily by choice. I had heard how beautiful this part of Kenya was, but of course, the coastal region has had bad press and an 'advisory'. I strongly recommend you TOTALLY ignore the rubbish that is written about the area???I felt as safe there as I do... More

Four girls had four nights at Driftwood Beach Club, courtesy of a raffle prize. The accommodation was modest yet comfortable and most importantly, clean and air-conditioned. The package included breakfast and we dined there every night, even though we planned to go out for dinner, we were happy to stay put. The food was great but the wine list disappointing... More

Driftwood Club has the most beautiful view of the ocean situated right on the beach at Malindi. The rooms are private and very comfortable. The staff are welcoming and very accommodating. We have loved being here. We have been incredibly well looked after. We have felt safe and secure at all times. We have enjoyed long walks on the beach... More

This was my second visit to The Driftwood and felt I had to write a review. I visited with a good friend and his wife to escape the Winter weather in the UK and have to say it was smashing. The rooms are great, no temptation to watch TV here, just sit on the porch and listen to the crashing... More

My wife and I were expecting family and friends to come to Kenya for Christmas, but due to a complete misconception about security and health issues, this did not happen, so our family Christmas was cancelled also. Next best thing was Malindi, the best place at the Coast, and the best place to stay in Malindi is The Driftwood Beach... More

I really like this place.. we come here every year with our friends and kids and it never disappoint. The staff are friendly and the manager, Roger is always present making sure things are right. My tip is Go to the beach and have a beer right afterwards.

My family and I spent 5 spectacular days at Driftwood Lodge. It's really laid back with delicious food and cool people. Best breakfast bacon I have ever had! Our cabins opened out onto the beach and the swimming pool was big and deep and cool and fresh. Lovely bar area, great playlist, kayaking, kite-surfing, swimming, eating, drinking, eating, napping, drinking,... More

For its price, this hotel is not good value for money. It looks luxurious on the website, but it's very average. Rooms are basic, and need a makeover. The location is beautiful. Pool is nice. Service is excellent with really friendly staff. If you were paying €70 a night you'd be happy. The food is not good. Breakfast is ok.... More

I was a part of a medical mission surgery team that came to Malindi from Vanderbilt University for two weeks. We came to work hard and spend the majority of our time in Kenya at the hospital but were overwhelmed by the beauty, location and hospitality at our home base at the Driftwood. The views of the ocean from the... More

I've been staying at the Driftwood Beach club over the last 15 years it's a lovely colonial style hide away from the hustle and bustle of Malindi, excellent food lively bar, swimming pool, comfortable rooms, attentive service. Driftwood Beach club is not for everyone that's why I stay there.
