The first Sopa Lodge we stayed at in Kenya and we really enjoyed it. The trip from Nairobi was an adventure in itself. It took about 5 hours and once the tarmac runs out it was very very very bumpy - we were really pleased we were in a 4x4! Arriving at the lodge at about 1430 we were given... more

Amboseli sopa lodge was lovely! The room was cosy and clean. The staff were friendly & helpful. The food was lovely & there was plenty of it! The grounds were well kept & it was nice to stroll around them between game drives. There were monkeys and vaious other wildlife in the gardens! We saw lots of wildlife in Amboseli... more

The roads from Nairobi to this lodge are a little rough not all tarmac,we entered the Amboseli National Park and after an hour or so in the park we reached the lodge. We were met by Sami a Masai who stood about 6'6" with a big grin some cold drinks and cold flannels. Room was clean, big bed and a big... more

Amboseli Sopa Lodge, A wonderfull ambiance - not the "fake" luxury of the Serena lodge -and without the typical elderly safari tourist. Lush grounds, large colourfull rooms and space! We travelled with our 11 year old twin girls and this was their favourite safari lodge, in spite of the fact that apart from breakfast they found meals very uninspiring (but... more

We stayed here for three nights, November 23 until the 26th. Overall, we were quite pleased. The accommodations were lovely: very spacious rooms with a large shower. We brought our own mosquito nets, and used them always. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Be aware that the power is cut from 10 in the morning until 530 or so,... more

The Amboseli Sopa lodge is about 30-45 minutes driving distance from the park entrance. The property is beautifully landscaped with a pond running through. The dining room has a wall of windows that look out at Mt.Kilimanjaro. We saw several species of birds from our front porch in the afternoon - sunbirds, a kingfisher, pied wagtails, gnatcatchers, flycatchers, quilleas, go-away... more

This was my favorite lodge during the safari, very spacious and clean bedroom and bathroom, lovely layout of the hotel, beautiful view of the mount kilimanjaro. Masai were very nice, food also great. The hotel is outside the park gates, about 30min by car. Like other sopa lodges, doesn't have any fence, but i felt save during the whole safari. more

We stayed here for two nights on a Kenyan Safari. The lodge is well situated near to the Amboseli national park. The design of the lodge is interesting in that the rooms are individual circular huts with thatched roofs giving a superficial appearance of an upmarket African village. Inside, the rooms are extremely spacious and well equipped - the bathroom... more

This lodge was fantastic. The room was the biggest i have ever seen in a hotel with two HUGE double bed and one large put up bed. The bathroom was also massive - you could fit about 7 people in the shower alone!, and probably the best thing about the bathroom was that you were guaranteed hot water between 5... more
