If you are willing to pay a bit extra for quality this is the place to stay in Amboseli. A peaceful and romantic setting. Staff are attentive and prompt. You can wake up to see wildlife meters from the end of your bed. The views of Mt Kilimanjaro were amazing. You are further away from the main wildlife areas, but this... more

We had a wonderful weekend away here!! It was a pleasure from beginning to end. Hosts John and Claire were charming and so kind and the entire team was just incredible!! The camp is beautiful and the location stunning but the atmosphere and service with constant smiles are what make it really special. We were treated like friends by everyone... more

Tortilis was our first stop in Kenya. It's a great way to start your safari vacation. The location, views, service, food, wildlife, guides, etc were all really good. We didn't know what to expect going on safari, and this was a great introduction. Within 30 minutes off the plane to Amboseli, we were within a herd of elephants. The feeling... more

We were a bit concerned that, after an amazing four days in the Maasai Mara, Amboseli would be a bit of an anti-climax. We needn’t have worried. Tortilis is a divine camp in such different terrain from the Mara that is was every bit as delightful in its own way. After a short, direct flight from the Mara we were... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in early December and absolutely loved it. Every little comfort is taken care of and we loved the personal attention given by the management and the staff. The staff and the service were the best we experienced thru out our trip (which included Keekorok, Mara Serena, Lake Nakuru lodge). Our driver... more

What you see on the website lives up to what you actually experience at Tortillas Camp, Amboselli. What the website doesn't tell you is how FANTASTIC the service, hospitality and people are at the camp. My husband and I started our very first Kenya experience with two nights at the camp and had the most wonderful experience. Our guides (Pilot,... more

We live in Kenya and have done a few Safaris. But Tortilis was definitely the highlight. A competent and empowering management (canadian/dutch couple with two lovely kids), well trained and friendly staff, the scenic location, the neat and cozy tents and the excellent food (we're very picky) have made this an unforgettable stay and we'll be back. The driver/guide was... more

We stayed at Amboseli Tortilis Camp for two nights in August and it was absolutely fantastic. After taking a couple of hour game drive from the Amboseli airstrip we were greeted at our arrival by the camp manager Bart. Accomodations are in luxurious "tents" that are a downhill walk from the lounge/dining areas. The walk back up could be quite... more

We booked our honeymoon in October 2007 and were alarmed when all the trouble over the presidential elections erupted! We watched the news closely and considered cancelling, but in the end we decided to go with it and hope for the best! Thank god we did! We spent 1 night in Nairobi and 4 nights in Tortilis before heading off... more

Serena Safari Lodge is part of Amboseli National Park in Kenya. We were there in October 2007 and were lucky enough to see the Kilimanjaro with snow and without clouds three days in a row! Wow. The lodge itself is wonderful situated, has a nice drinking pool where during the day a lot of zebra's and birds come. The restaurant... more
