Tortilis camp was the first stop in our 2 week safari vacation and it set the tone for a wonderful time ahead. The camp is located on a hill with a short hike downhill to the tents. There is watering hole just outside the perimeter of the camp which is frequented by elephants and other animals. It makes for excellent... More

Andrea and Manuela manage this lovely camp in an amazing setting facing Mount Kilimanjaro. The individual permanent tented camps are large and well appointed with running water and electricity. Wildlife wanders on the perimeter of the camp and the watering hole means one sees elephants, monkeys and other wildlife very close to the main lodge. Service is very attentive.

Tortilis Camp was the second stop on a faultless itinerary we planned and booked directly with Cheli & Peacock Safaris (www.chelipeacock.com), and where I celebrated a birthday! We loved staying here for all the right reasons: Andrea and Manuela are lovely hosts and the staff is great, wonderful (!!) food, loved our tent and indeed the whole camp, the view... More

This was our first stop and introduction to Kenya & Africa. We have been back home in Sydney, Australia now for nearly 2 months and every day we still long for our time back in Amboseli with Alex and the team at Tortilis Camp. It is such a special place and we felt so privileged and spoilt to be able... More

My wife, 17 yr old son, and I visited Tortilis for 3 nights. Wow! Comfortable tents, great service, wonderful food, and wildlife galore! Our guide, Alex, was terrific. The wildlife drives (and walks) were exciting, informative, and fun. Wonderful place to stay.

A beautiful camp well situated for views of Kili however due to cloud cover we only had occasional glimpses. If that is the main reason for visiting check the weather "history" and plan around it. Our favourite place was in the bar area which overlooks a waterhole visited by elephants and other animals. The Italian couple who manage the camp are... More

We started our 8-day safari with 2 nights at Tortilis Camp. It was the perfect place to start – the lodging is very comfortable, the food was excellent, and our amazing guide (Joel) astounded us with his extensive knowledge of every animal we encountered. You probably know that Amboseli is known for the elephants – you will see many of... More

This is a beautiful camp in a great location. It's Eco credentials are impeccable. The staff are all attentive and friendly, and the guiding superb. The elevated bar area is lovely, and overlooks a water hole, so you can sit and enjoy your drink watching the continuously changing parade of animals having theirs! Mongooses and dik diks run around the... More

We stayed two nights here in July. The camp is in a lovely location, with a pond which attracted elephant and giraffe on the mornings we were there. This is one of the larger camps we stayed in, with a bit of a hike from the tents up to the restaurant and bar. The tents are very comfortable, and food... More
