We have been to Tortilis Camp with a friend, staying for a weekend and had an absolutely fabolous experience. The place is great, tents are spacious and comfortable. The camp pays a lot of attention to details, which added a delight to our stay. The stuff is very nice and helpful and the food is good. We were welcomed on... more

Clare and John , the resident managers were wonderful hosts to our family. Clare ensured that our family of 5 had ever comfort possible. Her graciousness and interest in our experience was evident every day. We loved the property. The family tent is an absolute must if you are traveling with 4 persons. The food was excellent and the staff... more

We spent 5 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the main lodge, we could sit and watch all the activity at the water hole (mainly elephants) and enjoy a beautiful view of Kilimanjaro (we saw it three days out of five). The camp has very easy access to Amboseli National Park and all of the staff were very... more

We stayed at 5 luxury tent camps through Kenya and Tanzania. We had the family tent here, so it was an amazing room, looking right at Kilimanjaro. However, the food was the weakest of anyplace we stayed. One night we had chicken fried steak for dinner--no kidding. It was also the only place that didn't offer to bring drinks to... more

If you are willing to pay a bit extra for quality this is the place to stay in Amboseli. A peaceful and romantic setting. Staff are attentive and prompt. You can wake up to see wildlife meters from the end of your bed. The views of Mt Kilimanjaro were amazing. You are further away from the main wildlife areas, but this... more

We had a wonderful weekend away here!! It was a pleasure from beginning to end. Hosts John and Claire were charming and so kind and the entire team was just incredible!! The camp is beautiful and the location stunning but the atmosphere and service with constant smiles are what make it really special. We were treated like friends by everyone... more

Tortilis was our first stop in Kenya. It's a great way to start your safari vacation. The location, views, service, food, wildlife, guides, etc were all really good. We didn't know what to expect going on safari, and this was a great introduction. Within 30 minutes off the plane to Amboseli, we were within a herd of elephants. The feeling... more

We were a bit concerned that, after an amazing four days in the Maasai Mara, Amboseli would be a bit of an anti-climax. We needn’t have worried. Tortilis is a divine camp in such different terrain from the Mara that is was every bit as delightful in its own way. After a short, direct flight from the Mara we were... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in early December and absolutely loved it. Every little comfort is taken care of and we loved the personal attention given by the management and the staff. The staff and the service were the best we experienced thru out our trip (which included Keekorok, Mara Serena, Lake Nakuru lodge). Our driver... more
