We arrived in Almaty after midnight and by the time we arrived at the hotel, it was late and we were exhausted from the long travel. My first impression was how dark the reception area & halls were. All but one light was turned off. It was a little unnerving. We checked in and made our way to the small elevator, having to make separate trips to get all of our luggage. The room had 2 twin beds, a full bath, and a TV & was good sized. Everything was clean and neat. The next morning we had to leave our key with a woman stationed near the elevators when we left the floor. The breakfast buffet was very tasty and served in a room that was clean and bright. The staff was very friendly. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to move to another hotel that evening. We definitely would have enjoyed staying at the Zhetysu.
