Nice property and comfortable bed. Highly recommend for western travelers. I enjoyed the bier garten outside of the hotel. Room was very comfortable, especially the bed. Not much around the hotel in terms of entertainment.

Was a very good and popular hotel at its peak during 2005s. Now it is old and need refurbishment. Not worth for the price and do not have some speciality restaurants neither. Have no idea about Spa etc. because not used it. However lobby was very full with locals and eastern expats.

If placed any other city it would be 3stars. In Almaty it's 5. Prices are extremely high. Never take taxi or have coffee in a hotel. It is 3-5 times more expensive than if you literally walk 100 steps. Beds are very good there.

This is Rahat Palace hotel (not Hyatt anymore since quite a while). The good things: excellent breakfast (great egg-lady), mostly friendly and professional staff, nice sauna/steam/indoor pool/gym, reasonable bed/cleanliness; tv has BBC world and even BVN; toiletries OK The downside: a cappuchino in the lobby costs 10 Euro, roomservice food is very expensive; Hotel transport to/from airport is exrtremely expensive... I enjoyed staying here for the KIOGE but it was expensive. All hotels are for KIOGE, but I think mine was $400 a night. Breakfast is really superb. Excellent. The rooms are ok, it felt like they hadnt updated anything in 15 years or so. I didnt eat here, apart from breakfast, but was told that the restaurant was very... More

I made several stays at this hotel in 2009 and 2010. The staff was quite helpful, including arranging a breakfast snack for me at 4 AM (hours before the dining room opens). The rooms are among the cleanest I have stayed at anywhere.

The name Hyatt promises more then the hotel actually delivers. It probably was completely state of the art when it was built, but now it just feels worn and tired. The rooms are pretty small, with furniture looking like its at least 20 years old. The downstairs bar is nice, and the staff mostly friendly and helpful, but the place... More

Food is good, especially if the outdoor bar is open and the bbq is on. Pool and leisure facilities good, rooms good size but because they all open into an atrium there can be some noise from downstairs. I was on floor 5 and it was OK but would have preferred higher, and definitley not lower.

I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency numerous times over the last 15 years. When it first opened (as a Marco Polo), it was expensive, but the only game in town. Sadly, the management has done nothing to update the hotel and its rooms over all these years. As a result, the rooms now feel a bit tired lacking wifi or... More
