I still love it - but more so when it was the Hyatt Regency :-( It may be faded but lets say faded grandeur. The Atrium ( and the Yurts there) are to die for... breakfast - somewhat russian but still good! Too many american pilots staying there though..

This is a five star hotel but is not five star quality. The hotel is actually an old Hyatt Hotel that Hyatt sold. I can understand why. This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Ripped, stained and threadbare carpets all around, wallpaper stained, old TV etc. Restaurant: Burger from the bar tasted like an old mule, salad was good... More

This is a clean professionally run hotel. However, the rooms look old and do not befit a five star hotel. Good news: heard rumors that they will soon be closing down for massive renovation. Breakfast was very reasonable with just bearable coffee.

This is a five star hotel but is not five star quality There is a beautiful large lobby with huge atrium. Had to however wait over 30 minutes to check in. Room was OK but no internet for the first 24 hours which made it difficult as i was on a business trip. You must also remember to have Tenge... More

Hotel Rahat Palace is well situated and in a good location ,has huge lawns and parking which insulates it from noise of traffic ,has good rooms and decent food .only thing lacking is ,one thing which makes any hotel enjoyable even if it does not have other expected amenities, 'SERVICE WITH A SMILE '.it kind of insulates a hotel from... It is hard to see that this hotel is going down. Yes, it was Five Star before, but today not. I stayed 5 days this month together with my official delegation. First impression was not so good, which we faced at Check In. There were three receptionists serving two guests in front of us which made us to wait 20... More

The rooms are old, air ventilation is noisy, bathrooms are not really modern, but everything is clean and comfortable. The lobby and bar area are beautifull. The Grill Restaurant was closed ( apparently for several months already ); the only available food was from the bar, with limited choice, but the Nasi Goreng ( not really local ! ) was... More

Stayed here on my way to Dushanbe. Nothing of note. As has been noted by others, it is old, needs refurbishment and is overpriced. The staff attempt to be nice, but there seemed to be a lot of guests complaining about one this or another.

I spent 4 nights at Rahat Place as part of a delegation. I was told that it used to be Hyatt Regency and was one of the first 5 start hotels in Almaty.. However, it now shows its age.. The lobby area and the reception are pretty good, but it is the rooms that need to be upgraded.. Definitely the... More

This hotel has all I needed. conveniently located, good internet for free throughout the hotel, excellent quality of food. Very helpful receptionists, the rooms are very well appointed even if they start to age a bit, and extremely clean. was told they would renovate soon ! great to hear as a modern room and this level of service will go...
