Went to Aomori last year around the same time for Nebuta Festival and stayed behind for a couple more days to explore the city of Aomori. The capital city of Aomori Prefecture, the city of Aomori is one of the larger city in the northern part of Japan. Not many hotels you can find here, but Hotel JAL remained a... More

Convenient to the station and all the amenities of the main shopping street this is a typical Japanese business hotel. Staff are efficient and speak adequate English. Room was spotless and well maintained, WiFi worked well. Restaurant does not appear to cater for dinner but there are many eating possibilities within a few minutes walk. Overall a very pleasant place... More

Staying at the JAL City Aomori is like traveling back in time to the 70s--and not in a good way. Even the "Deluxe" room was barely larger than the bed. Not kidding. One side of the bed was hard up against the wall, so my wife had to climb up or over to get in. There was one chair. Everything... More

JAL is the top name in Japanese travel, but obvious JAL city Aomori is just another story. Firstly, the reception is just cool as icy, I dont feel any warm welcome from them. The room is just in old style. The temperature adjustor is just silly, there is no different between 18'C and 27 'C, is it just a decoration?... More

The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station (not the Shinkansen stop; the older station) and was easy to find. The front desk staff was very efficient and spoke good enough English to get us situated without stress. Unfortunately, the moment we stepped out of the elevator into the 8th floor hallway we were hit with a strong... More

The service is great and the rooms are nice by Japanese standards: clean and efficiently laid out, but extremely small. The bathrooms are small, as are them beds, desks, and everything else. The hotel resturant is fine, but except for breakfast, I took my meals at the nearby mall or at other restaurants recommended by friends.

We stayed here for two nights as a family group. With two kids (teen and tween) and two adults, we requested two non-smoking rooms and asked for them to be adjacent. We got exactly what we requested. Decor was clean and modern and the sizes of the rooms were decent by Japanese standards. We had a lovely buffet breakfast included... More

I stayed two nights at the hotel during my trip to Northern Honshu. Friendly, English speaking hotel staff. Single room was small, but large enough for one tall European. Very clean, furnished in International-American style. Conveniently located nearby Aomori station and a few steps away from the seaside. Excellent value for money.
