We stayed here for two nights during a trip round Akita prefecture. Good central location, and very close to the lovely Senshu Park. The Dormy Inn covers all the bases, with a Western hotel combined with some features more typically found in Japanese-style accommodation. The rooms are decent sizes for a Japanese hotel and the staff are efficient. There is... More

This hotel made for a relaxing stay. The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast had a wide assortment of Japanese dishes and a few western options. The hotel has a spa if you need a massage at night. Very welcoming. Laundry facilities adequate as well. I would stay here again.

Not only is this hotel in a perfect position near the train station, Akitas castle and some museums it offers a nice Onsen and affordable massages (20 min 16$) . The staff was really helpful and I could manage to communicate all my questions in english. (Sometimes they redirected me to one of their employees who was better in english.)... More

The night before we stayed at Dormy inn Hirosaki which was also great. This was an easy walk from the station even arriving when it was dark. Very pleasant staff at reception. You have to be prepared for smaller rooms in Japan but remember you are not spending the whole day inside, you should be out sight seeing.

What a marvelous place! Starting from the warm and hearty check-in until the fast and easy check-out. In between everything was splendid! The room was very spacious and japanese style. Entering there was a small room where you change your shoes and use the slippers to enter the bed- and livingroom. In the entrance room there´s also a seperate toilet.... More

Ten minuets walk from Akita station. Close to museums, Onsen at the top floor, and nice BF.

Excellent location near the Akita train station (4 blocks) and nice hot baths with dry sauna. The bedrooms are very small and smell of tobacco smoke even in floors that are supposed to be "smoke free". Smoking is allowed on floors 3 and 7. We were moved from a "no-smoking room" to a "smoking room" on our second day stay... More

Out of all hotels in Akita city, Dormy Inn Akita had most of what I wanted from my hotel stay. Their open air spa was open all night and it was so useful as I was jet lagged. It snowed while I was in it, so nice. Their room is kept clean and had many services. I had a huge... More

Stayed one night and I found this hotel super value for budget and long travellers. The room is amasing. It is very small but very functional. They do not miss any inches. The toilet and shower is completely isolated from a bed area and the room has no bath tab. Instead, they have a roof top bath and I enjoyed... More

Hotel with relatively small, very clean and functional rooms with fridge, high speed internet, tea/coffee making facility, etc. at around 10 min. walking distance from the JR station. To reach the hotel, take West exit and follow the inclined covered hall up to the end, turn right into a little cobbled street. About 50 m. later, you should see the... More
