Pro: - on a walking distance from the railway station and the pier - spacious rooms - staff extremely kind and helpful Con: - need serious maintenance and renovation - a little bit expensive for being a business hotel Overall: if you need to stay close to the station, this is your choice. Otherwise I would suggest you to look... More

We booked this place last minute, and were happy with everything - good staff, clean room, conveniently located near train station and ferry terminal. We took the local transport to visit the Ritsurin garden , a must do, and visited the art island Naoshima

While the location was convenient, it is worth paying an extra 1,000 yen to stay elsewhere. The room we stayed in had no natural light, the window being frosted and facing another building less than meter away. I have never experienced this in any other hotel I have stayed in. The woman at the front desk was unhelpful and seemed... More

Good value, across the street from the parking lot in front of Takamatsu Station, which makes it easier for taking trains/buses for sightseeing in the area. We were given rooms in the Annex building a few doors away from the main building. The Annex building has no reception/front, but I did see someone come in once in a while to... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on a trip to Shikoku. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the ferry terminal and the train station. It was perfect for our needs. We caught the ferry to Naoshima and on another day a train to Tokushima. We caught a local bus to the gorgeous Ritsurin garden. The young woman... More

The hotel is located in front of Takamatsu’s central station, very close to the ferries and around 1 km or slightly less from the shopping area. The room rate was cheap for Japanese standards, the room was quite big, simple and clean. Some basic Japanese definitely helped us interact with the staff. The hotel itself does not provide breakfast but... More

We had a good bargain (walk-in) rate from the boss himself on 23May, 2012. Excellent value for 2 clean rooms. [The reception/lobby is in another building just around the corner.] Just across the Takamatsu JR station.

Positive points: - Good location, especially if you need to catch the ferry to Naoshima island. - Helpful staff. - Good Japanese breakfast (served at next-door restaurant) Negative points: - Our room was clean but would need some renewal. - The booking was made through Japanican website and breakfast was included in the price. However, at check-in, the staff did... More

When we arrived, the receptionist was very helpful, agreeing to let us leave our overnight bags and helping with directions. So we were favourably impressed. the Hotel Area One is very well located across the road from Takamatsu station, and close to the ruined castle, which is well worth a visit. It is also within easy walking distance of the... More
