I stayed with my parents for a week here. The hotel was pretty decent and the service was ok. Not many of the staffs speak English so it might be a problem for some people. The breakfast menu could be improved.

All in all this is actually a decent hotel. The rooms are large but very dated and don’t exactly delight. The beds are comfy and pillows great. Hotel advertises free wired internet in the rooms but in my room anyway this didn’t work. Free Wifi in Public areas was very hit and miss too. On a plus side the hotel... More

First of all a great location. Just a few blocks from the main entrance of the JR station. The hotel itself - a huge, yellowish 17-storey buildind, is a good landmark. Our room at the 14th floor had a nice view over the mountains and the sea and it was ok in size and clean & quiet. Large beds. The... More

The hotel is located close to the train station, but the directions to it are not well marked. Go down the covered corridor out side the station main entrance to your right, past the parking garage on your left, then turn left down the small lane. The hotel is 200 yards straight ahead across the street. The hotel is a... More

We stayed two nights in this hotel, and it was good value for money. Location was very convenient, good food options for breakfast and dinner, the rooms were comfortable, and the onsen was great! Exit the JR train station from the car rental side, walk along the wall of the building, cut through the wet market, turn left and you... More

We travelled as a family and had a family room that could fit 4 single beds. The room was small but cozy. I liked this hotel for the following reasons: 1. Onsen within the hotel that we could use in the morning and night 2. Option to have breakfast at 3 different restaurants in the hotel 3. There was a... More

Hotel is very close to Beppu JR station. Staff at hotel and at Japanese restaurant is friendly and helpful. Our room at 17th floor has a very good view and is spacious. The bathroom is a bit of problem if you are travelling with elderly, it has a very high step! Must try the Japanese restaurant - food is delicious... More

Kamenoi is about 5 minutes walk from Beppu JR Station. As you emerge from the front of the station, turn right and walk parallel to the rail lines. We stayed in room 1418 w3hich was of reasonable size. The bathroom is an older design style where one has to step up about 23cm (9 inches) when entering the bathroom /... More

location very good, spacy room (non-smoking large 31m2 twin), friendly staff, 100Y shop in lobby. Nothing really special, but absolutely fine for the money paid. Unpleasant surprise was non-opening windows. Best for me was hotel onsen, used this in the mornings and Beppu city onsens in the evenings (Kaimonji and Kitahama).
