This traditional Japanese inn is located in the Kannawa hells area of Beppu. Kannawa, in common with most of Beppu, is utterly tacky (but great fun) being based around a series of hot spots (or hells) which have been turned into mini amusement parks (see the accompanying photo of a devil astride a steaming vent).
