With a great breakfast, soup at night and sauna & onsen for free: Dormy Inn seems to be booked out easily, so you can be happy, if you get a room in a Dormy Inn anywhere in Japan. And you get a new "Hotel-Schlafanzug" sleeping suit evely day :-)

Arriving by train, it’s a good 15 minute walk east from Kagoshima-chuo station if you are hauling luggage or ¥600 by taxi. Apart from this the hotel is located very near the restaurant/retail/nightclub scene around the Tenmonkan Arcade and the ferry wharves are a further 15 minute walk – with much of the city’s places of historical interest in between.... Our room was pretty small, and slightly stuffy, but still comfortable and modern. Great breakfast. The hotel is nicely located, near the Tianwenguan party and restaurant district, and 5 min away from the nearest tram stop.

Our family of five stayed in 2 adjacent rooms. Standard Japanese size, but very well designed with refrigerator, water heater. Very clean. The breakfast is a great deal for families as kids eat free and each adult is 1200yen for a delicious buffet of sashimi, rice porridge, soup, fish, eggs, fruit and yogurt, and other local dishes with good English... This place is between the shinkansen station and tenmonkan (the nightlife district) and on the main road for buses and trams. Great restaurants around. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet very tasty. Wifi was strong too. Check out Sakurajima while you are here, We hired some bicycles and had a great time.

We love most hotels in the Dormy Inn chain and Kagoshima was no exception. Lovely rooftop baths, a decent but cozy room and a quite varied and delicious morning buffet breakfast. Centrally located. Fast, efficient service though English proficiency does vary quite a bit. They are advertising a new app for translation Japanese-English but we didn't try it. You can... More

I love staying in Japanese hotels that have the large public baths and the one at Dormy Kagoshima is devine! On the roof top it is quite cool...to hear the sound of activity below, but totally private. A great way to relax after a day at Sakurajima with the ash in the air falling onto your face and in your... More

Dormy inn is a hotel chain in Japan so you can expect everything more or less the same when you stay Dormy inn in another city before. I went to Kagoshima after Nagasaki which I also stay in Dormy Inn so I don't expect too much different. Simple and clean room this is all I had expect. However, the rooftop... More

This place is centrally located, has a delicious breakfast buffet, and is a great price. The hotel staff is friendly. The hotel is clean, has free in-room and lobby area tea (the lobby also has coffee; the rooms don't) and in-hotel clothes (these run on the small size and may not fit you if you are a bigger person). The... More

That it has its own parking building for residents is already too much to ask for in Japan. The free ramen is just a bonus. Onsen is very well maintained and clean and well designed. The only set back is the design of the in-hotel clothes for residents. Will certainly check dormy first when I visit japan in future. Most... More
