Expensive but not super expensive by Japanese standards. Staff do not speak any useful English and if you request anything out of the ordinary they go onto a tail spin. Don't even bother trying to ask for a plate to take to the room. You will spend 10 minutes explaining then be told "no we have no plates in the... More

Modern hotel, with small rooms (as most japanese hotels). But everything new, clean and well thought out. Very nice onsen on rooftop, and excellent breakfast with a lot of choices. Free ramen at night. We stayed for a week, and enjoyed both the hotel and the city. Kagoshima has a friendly feel to it, and has lot of beautiful spots... More

I have now stayed at several good quality budget/around 3 star hotels in Japan and this has been the best. The hotel is quiet new and modern but cozy, the room was the biggest I had in Japan and the bathroom nicer than the usual plastic box. Besides the usual facilities, this one had on top, a great onsen on... More

Great location, good wifi, the bed size was fine to me but if you are tall, maybe its just fit. Staffs were all very helpful and friendly and helped to book the nice Shabu Shabu dinner for us. Free breakfast, after dinner noodle and free shuttle were all value added. THe best is the hot spring bath, with indoor and... More

This was our first stay in a Dormy Inn (we stayed in a few during our trip) and we were really impressed. All the rooms and general facilities looked very new and everything was spotless. The shower was a proper monsoon, the mattress was extremely comfortable and the fridge, yukata, toothpaste etc all came in really handy. The location was... More

Service was good, onsen & noodles for supper was a plus.. location near the train station but have to take tram or walk a distance.. easy accessible. They supply toothbrush, combs, towel and slippers, yukata in the room. For the double room, bed may be a bit small for big size people but the twin room which has 2 single... More

This hotel is very near to Tenmokan shopping dori, so you can walk there for some shopping and many restaurants there too. Take a tram and you walk about 2 mins to hotel. It has onsen on the top floor and free noodles served from 9.30-11pm. There is also free shuttle service to Kagoshima Chuo station, just place your name... More

I stayed for 3 nights in October - chose here based off recommendations and the rooftop onset and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is about a 20 min walk from the station - or take the tram, although the nearest station is about a 2-3 min walk away. However, location wise the hotel is great for exploring the city and the... More

We enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were comfortable, clean with good facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great onsen, perfect for relaxing in the evening. Free Ramen available in the evening. Wifi worked well in room. Location was perfect. A great value for money hotel, we would definitely stay here gin if we returned to Japan.

We stayed 2 nights in August 2014. We would totally recommend it to anyone visiting Kagoshima that literally wants a place to stay. It is a very nice hotel, centrally located. Staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. The rooms are comfortable and taking everything. Wifi connection was excellent. The rooftop onsen bath is a real bonus and probably a... More
