I have stayed at this property on many occasions and know all about the pros and cons of staying here. The hotel's configuration is odd and the "Queen" room is very small by Hyatt standards but the location is excellent in Canal City and within walking distance to both Tenjin and Hakata. The hotel is blessed with one of the... More

Service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and out of the 15 hotels I had been in Japan, they spoke the best English. Room was large and well equipped but really pricey, almost triple to another one I booked near the Hakata station. Unfortunately there was no view, and facing a shopping mall shouldn't be a good idea. Not the... More

Stayed here in early March. The room is huge compared with Japanese standard. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Our room was on high floor overlooking the canal, with a nice view. Convenient location with a mall next door. We didn't take the hotel breakfast as there are plenty of eateries around. Hakata station is like 15 min away on foot,... More

We keep coming back to this hard-to-fault hotel. There's simply no equivalent in Fukuoka. The river view is lovely, service is attentive, and the location is great, conveniently connected to the Canal City mall. Club lounge offers top class food and beverage for breakfast and evening cocktail. Best coffee in Japan so far. Gym and pool area is pleasant and... More

Considering it's a grand hyatt property and the prices certainly reflect that, I consider my 1-night stay somewhat disappointing. My main gripe is that they seem to be completely overwhelmed by their high occupancy rate, which I would imagine is a good problem for a hotel to have and especially for an established brand like Hyatt, something to which they... Family of four on first trip to Fukuoka. This is a great base camp for eats, shopping and excursions...everything is a short hop away. Hotel is a bit old but perhaps that is why rooms are pretty good sized by Japan standards. Service is also very accommodating, we had some temperature trouble in room it was fixed right away after... Besides best location in town - Grand Hyatt has it all. Staff is ultra accommodating and rooms are amazing. What I love about their suites is that they are massive and love hardwood floors all throughout the rooms. Grand Club is small yet very well run and food options are great. Staff recognizes you from previous stay .

Other than the rude taxi driver taking us from the train station, our stay at the Grand Hyatt turned out to be a great choice. 1. Location - central to all activities, 10 minutes taxi ride from the JR train station, or 20 minutes from the airport. 2. Room - true to size American standard, spacious and comfortable. 3. Service... Visited with family in late December. It's conveniently located next to Canal City where there are many shops. It's also only a 10 minute walk to the Tenjin shopping area where all the large department stores are located. There are also many restaurants within a 5/10 minute walk of the hotel. Rooms are smallish but clean. No bedside electrical socket... More

There aren't many international brand name 5-star hotels in Fukuoka surprisingly, except for the Hyatt with 2 properties, and the Hilton. Fukuoka is really coming into its own though so I do hope more international hotels set up shop here. For now though, the Grand Hyatt is prob. your safest and best bet if you want an international standard 5-star... More
