This hotel used to be one of the few main luxury hotels in Fuuoka, and related to the Imperial family when they visit the area. With a sprawl of hotels in Fukuoka in recent years, New Otani still retains its elegance and character. From check-in to check-out, service is escellent when needed. Space is huge by standards of Japan from... More

The hotel is of an acceptable standard for business traveller. Room feels tired; time to refurbish. Just basic amenities provided. Wi-Fi connection tends to get unsteady especially at night. Good selection for breakfast. Concierge team is very attentive. The hotel has a supermarket next to it (very convenient if you would like to grab some essentials or even cheap fresh... More

Wonderful staffs greet us as soon as we arrived. As a member of NOC, we checked in at a special desk, and everything was ready for us. We got the triple room, so room is pretty spacious. The furniture is a bit dated, but in great shape and the room is spotless. The hotel is about one subway stop from... More

Overall a good experience, but it lacks the plus of a 4*. Check-in time is 2pm, that means literally no one at check-in desk at 11am! Location average, Room very small as always in Japan but OK. Very old bathroom, The hotel needs a refurbishment. Great breakfast.

this hotel supplied most of what i needed during a short business trip in hakata, except wifi in the room (they seem to provide a router on request, though). the staff were very polite and efficient. my twin room on the 10th floor was spacious and equipped with everything i could ask for. it was meticulously clean though obviously dated.... We checked in at 4.10PM. Check-in was smooth without any problems. The hotel lobby was quite big and the seating area has a large colorful painting. The bedroom was larger than most Japanese hotel rooms. In the room were two beds, three chairs, a small table, and a TV. Inside the wardrobe was two pair of slippers and two robes.... More

No wifi, decent location though not great. Clean and spacious rooms, excellent service, good Japanese restaurant at the hotel. Walking distance to Tsuttaya CD store, supermarkets and such. We took a road trip around Kyushu and the hotel was a good base for that.

Stayed 3 nights in the New Otani Hakata in May. The room was large for Japan - it was the size of a typical American hotel room. Beds were comfy, rooms were very clean. The only downside was that there was no WIFI. The service was very good - every one we encountered was courteous, and the front desk even... More

It was ok, the room was decent size, had a little fridge and a flat screen tv, comfortable beds, but everything else felt pretty old and worn down. The lamps, center console, plastic bathroom, very '80s. Could hear doors opening and closing up and down the hall. We got decent sleep though, the showers had good pressure, hot water, room... More

Hotel New Otani is situated about 10-15 min walk from Tenjin, the centre of Fukuoka, and 5-10min bus ride from the train station. There's an underground station next to the hotel. You could take one to Tenjin, but it's only a station away and a bit of waste of money. Furthermore, you'll have to change to go elsewhere. Although it's... More
