Great location in Canal City shopping center and 10 minutes from Hakata JR Station. Nice onsen and very clean rooms. Comfy beds. Free noodles in the evening is a nice plus. A perfect business hotel in the center of the city. Go for it

I stayed at Dormy inn premium hotel in hakata area Fukuoka for three nights in July 2013. The hotel is not far from the airport and right next to the huge shopping complex called the canal city. Outside the hotel there is the bus stop for buses that go around Fukuoka, including the green city loop bus. The hotel is... More

The reason I got this hotel is that it is basically attached to Canal City which is a huge shopping center. Yes the rooms are tiny to the point that if one has more than one piece of luggage a little bit of arrangement is needed to make sure there is room left over to actually move around the room.... Very typical of the Dormy Inns in which I have stayed -- rooms are compact, bathroom reasonable size, the entire hotel is extremely clean, and the onsen is very nice. The breakfast at this one was satisfactory but offered less choices than other hotels in this chain in which I have stayed. The location is convenient for the train stations,... More

First things first - yes the rooms are very small. But if you only plan to use your room for bed related activities there should be no problem. Even though the rooms are small they still have a fridge (empty so you can put your own things in), a tv, bathroom and shower and a charger for almost any cell... More

One of the best parts of this hotel is its location. It was next to Canal City and a 5 minute walk from Hakata Station. It was a 10 minute cab ride from the airport. We had no idea what to expect, having never stayed in a Japanese hotel before, but we were extremely impressed. The rooms were tiny, but... More

Take a Westin, shrink it, and add an incredibe bath/sauna, and you've got Dormy Inn Premium Canal City Mae. Small room--- you're in Japan for gosh sakes, what do you expect??? Great decor, great finishes, sensible design, everything you need in the most compact space, plus a communal bath that makes you think you're in a hot spring area--- all... More
