This was by far the most awful hostel I've ever seen in my life. Yes, it was cheap - but that was all there was to like. Besides walking through the red light district and some shabby neighbourhoods to reach the hostel once I arrived I was shocked by a cold welcome of the staff - who seemed angry to... More

I live in Japan and have stayed in many places all over. This has been my worst experience so far in a hostel. Usually you would assume that if you are paying a cheap fee that the place is a dump, fortunately in Japan this isn`t necessarily the case. I have been to very cheap hostels and been surprised with... More

Its been a little while since I've been there, but by the reviews I see nothing has changed. The moment I entered the hostel I new it would be awful. It's really dirty, there's one or two rooms with dormitory, the staff tried to be nice, but I just couldn't stop feeling uncomfortable. So, when they showed me the room,... More

The feeling you get when you enter the property is: "Is this a guesthouse"? "Where's the reception desk?", and most important of all: "Where's the staff?". I arrived in the afternoon, but the building was empty. At 3pm a man came who I suppose is the "manager", took my money, told me where to sleep, and left. That meant there... More

I have stayed in several hostels and guesthouses across Japan, and while some may be cheap, they are at least clean and tidy. This place is the exception. We made last-minute travel plans for Fukuoka and this was the last place available. While the location a short walk away from Tenjin Station is convenient, the facility itself was incredibly disappointing.... More

The guest house is nicely located in central Fukuoka near the Tenjin station. Regarding the positive things I can say about Aloha Spirit that's about it. It started with booking a room. Although I talked to the same guy 4 times over the phone, always trying to book a single room for one night he never remembered speaking to me... More

The owner is friendly, but has almost no English skills. The rooms are dirty ,unclean and with homemade bunkbeds. Location is great. When you stay here you hope that you don't need to go to the toilet a lot. It's very small. I would never stay here again even thought me and my friends have had a lot if fun... More

Where to begin... The dorm was tiny, no lockers are space to put your luggage. 2 bunkbeds in a 10sqm room. but late at night, a 5th person arrived and slept on a mattress on the floor. the beds were self-made, bad quality. hard as rock. the mattress is 2cm thick. the pillow a bag of nutshells, the blankets old.... If you've ever stayed at a sketchy, hole in the wall, guesthouse for less than $10 USD in a less developed country and are used to roughing it a bit by yourself, this is the place to stay in Fukuoka. Here you still have electricity, clean running water, and free wifi. The guesthouse is very close to the Tenjin area.... More

The worst hostel experience of my life. Dirty as sin, the shower didnt have a floor and the tiny kitchen doubled as an office - paper, empty beer cans and noodle packets everywhere. Throughout my entire stay there was a piece of fish left on the table. No one spoke good english (as adverstised), any request for assistance was granted... More
