I chose this hotel due to it being close the Marine Messe, I was heading to a concert. The hotel is extremely easy to reach by local transport. Although a lot of people seem to be leaving negative reviews I actually enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, no cigarette smell, the staff were helpful and the wifi worked brilliantly.... More

Like most of Japan Fukuoka is a beautiful city with friendly people and plenty to do, we would recommend the Sumo tournament if you are there at the right time of year, great fun. We stayed at the Ascent for two nights and used it only as a base really. It is in a good location for getting around the... More

I requested a non-smoking double room, but we were given a smoking one instead. This would have been just about passable if it was not for the state of the room we are in (room 925) - the carpet is filthy, the toilet is not properly cleaned, the room stinks. The furniture is scuffed with cigarette burns, the carpet is... More

stayed here 2 nights. we are in japan travelling around on a 7 day railway pass, the rooms could do with an urgent update, but the size of the rooms well and truly makes up for that. My husband always wants to stay close to the stations and we have had some very small places to stay in but this... More

I only stayed in this hotel for two nights. The only room available was a twin room containing two single beds. The room was spacious. The hotel is also conveniently situated very near a subway station. It could be a challenge finding the right exit but as always it doesn't hurt to ask at the station. The check-in process went... Good location for underground, as 100m away, but very confusing re correct exit to get to hotel. Also entrance is down side street & difficult to find, had to ask 2 people to find, as came out wrong underground exit. Rooms small, as often happens in japan. Semi double bed is no bigger than single, so squeeze for 2 adults.... More

My stay was paid through accrued credit card points, so I may have difficulty being objective in my opinion of the VALUE of Hotel Ascent Fukuoka, but I overall enjoyed my 1 night stay. The room was clean and typical of a business hotel. The location is fantastic, easily reached from Tenjin station (ether above or below-ground in the shopping... More

I don't see how this hotel is ranked relatively well on tripadvisor. Overall it seemed exceedingly average. Check-in was smooth, although the front desk wasn't particularly friendly which I found quite odd for a Japanese hotel. The unpleasant elevator reeked of smoke, as did the hallways. The clean room was small as expected, with a couch and a tiny bathroom,... More

Stayed 1 night December 2013, 2 people in Hotel Ascent Fukuoka paying 54 dollars AU for “Semidouble bed”. This is a great hotel and highly competitive option for all. The rooms are clean with quality bedding and linen. Wifi reached the room and the hotel was located within walking distance of Tenjoin station. Staff are friendly. Great value and I... More

I paid $37US/night (all in) for a "One Semidouble Bed" booking 3 months prior on Hotels.com. The hotel was extremely quiet, with friendly, efficient,English speaking staff. There is no safe. There are no English channels on the 32" flatscreen TV. There is a small fridge with kettle and tea supplied. The air-con,internet speed, bed, bedding, pillows were very good. The rooms in the hotel are a... More
