I stayed there for 3 nights at the end of April before and after going to the hot spring hotels. I was sceptical when my friend suggested staying at this hotel (sorry for being a snob) as I had never stayed in any budget hotels before. It turned out that I was pleasantly surprised. I was there for business and had to stay three nights at the Toyoko since everything else was full. let's just say I probably wouldn't mind on a budget holiday. probably. the aircon didn't work but somebody from the staff helped and finally it was ok - however, as every Japan-traveler knows, you're lost in translation wherever you are since... The standard is good. The hotel has everything I need at an excellent price. The staff is very helpful. The hotel is located reasonably close to the underground and close to lots of restaurants. I went to Fukuoka to watch the Sumo basho in November 2012. I enjoyed my stay very much.

This hotel was easy to book with very communicative respondents and very clean, warm, cosy rooms. Complimentary breakfast.. Yum. Fukuoka is a lovely little town and Sumo Tournament was awesome!!!
