We stayed for 3 nights. The basic double room was spacious for Japan, clean, comfortable, and good value. Some aspects a bit dated: TV and radio, but this is very minor. Wifi occasionally unreliable, but was good speed in the room. The staff were excellent. Polite, helpful, the service in general was excellent. The breakfast was fairly standard japanese and... More

I booked four nights at the last minute, as my travel plans had abruptly changed. Takakura is not close to the Hakata main train and bus station, but is within a short train/bus or taxi ride away. The neighbourhood is safe, quiet, in a low traffic area, and a short walk from one of the main busy roads. I felt... More

This hotel is located in a very nice area next to the station. It´s a classic business hotel, with nice and friendly staff. The rooms are quite small though, but no smaller than other hotels in Japan. I´d stay here again.

We were getting quite desperate to book a hotel in Fukuoka as this trip was very last minute. All the international hotel chains were booked up. It was by chance that I stumbled on Takakura Hotel and upon inquiry, they had rooms. We quickly booked a twin room. Once in Fukuoka airport, the cab driver was familiar with the hotel... More

I booked this hotel on the day of stay, it was very reasonable yet very nice hotel. The room size was average Japanese business hotel, but bed was comfy, free internet, basic amenity was there. There were a few convenience stores around, a train station is just around the corner. It would have been a perfect stay if there was... More

The hotel is located right next to Train station bldg., Train (upstairs), metro (basement), and Bus stop. Close to JR station and airport. One stop on Train and Metro to Tenjin, downtown mall. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Small in US standard, but larger than business hotel rooms. We usually go to convenient stores to get breakfast, and decent coffee... More

After struggling to find a vacancy at a hotel in Fukuoka, we managed to find the Takakura Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised, although it seems more geared up for weddings and corporate events. It has a very good location for tourists and clean, spacious rooms. However the most impressive side to this hotel was the excellent service and friendly manner... More

We were lucky to find this hotel as we booked last minute flights during the lunar New Year, only to find that every hotel on Earth was fully booked! We found that this hotel had availability for 1 night so we booked it, paying $60 for the room, not per person. The hotel was about 15 mins in a cab... More

We managed to get a very good rate for this room through Japanican. The hotel is modeled on an Italian theme and this shows in the furniture, fittings and even cutlery. You can tell by the guests who frequent the hotel that this is a fairly high class hotel. Our room was a good size (29sqm) with two semi-double beds.... More

This one is recommended in the 2009 edition of the Michelin Green guide. Medium size hotel allows for a relaxed non crowded environment. The rooms are comfortable with wired internet (Ask for a non smoking room if necessary). The AC is working silently and efficiently -- the best I had in this trip. The staff is helpful and efficient. We... More
