the premium dormy inn in wakayama is located within a 5 minutes walk from the station. though it is on one of the main roads of the city, traffic abates in the evenings. there are quite a few interesting restaurants and drinking places nearby, catering mostly to local tastes. the hotel offers small but adequate rooms. as so often at... The Dormy Inn hotel chain is known for their hot springs and spas available at the hotels themselves. They are almost always within walking distance of major train stations. Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama is no different. I was particularly drawn to it as Wakayama is famous for natural hot springs, to which many local Japanese tourists travel and stay for... More

Stayed here for 5 nights on a revisit to Wakayama and Koyasan, location is good near JR station and all the buses, hotel does not have restaurant, only serves breakfast in the morning, 2nd floor has onsen with sauna, front desk very limited English, the hotel is principally catered to local Japanese and tourists group. If you do not speak... More

Good wifi, decent value. Loses a star for not being able to speak English, and giving us a bad room even though we'd explained we were on honeymoon. Laundry room was good, late night noodles, close to station. Easier commute to Kansai than from most Osaka hotels.

Very central location, just few walks from train station and you can find a lot of restaurant nearby. Room is enough to fit for two big luggage. Compare to normal Japanese hotel standard, they already give you good space. Everything is new and morden inside hotel. Room is clean also the hot spring pool. Very nice and clean. Wifi is... More

I stayed at dormy inn with my wife for two nights. The hotel is only five minutes or less from wakayama station and super easy to find from the main road. This place has everything you could want in a standard hotel, plus a few extras. The onsen is definitely a big selling point, but there is also free coffee... More

Spent one night to be closer to the airport relative to Kyoto. The hot spring in the hotel was wonderful - there were three baths for women (outdoor, indoor and cold plunge pool) and a sauna. Baths are open the entire night (sauna closes 1 to 5 am) Spotlessly clean. Didn't get a chance to try the massage but available... More

Spend one night in the hotel with my wife to start a week's trip in Wakayama Prefecture in early December. The hotel is just a few blocks and a few minutes' walk from the JR Station. When check-in, the staff is very friendly and efficient. The room is a standard one and the windows open to an back alley. No... More

We stayed at Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama for 5 nights in Nov 2014. 2 adults and 3 children. Booked 2 rooms with King Sized Beds (26 sq m). First the good - 1) Hot Spring in resort. Good is an understatement. New, spotlessly clean and luxurious! Separate male and female baths. We visited every day. On the last day we... More

Hotek is within 10 mins walk from JR Wakayama station. Hotel comes with free hot spring faccility. Rooms are relatively small with limited walk space if you have huge luggages and comes with private bathroom. Hotel provides free soba for supper, which is a plus point.
