It was a very relaxing stay at Otsu for us however we found a few key issues with the hotel. The bars, restaurants & pool had very limited hours considering there was not a lot to do in the Otsu area. We walked into "town" to visit a bar after midnight which was also closed and there were only a... More

Rooms were spacious and very clean. Shower/bathtub, toilet and hand basin are alll in separate areas. The breakfast buffet was in a huge room. Both Japanese and western selections were available. The food was adequate, but not as nice as in the other Prince hotels I stayed at during my trip. The hotel is situated outside of Kyoto, but it... More

Very spacious room with gorgeous view of the lake Biwa. The receptionist was super friendly and nice. The interior of the room seemed a bit old fashioned but nothing bothered at all. Bathroom was small compared to typical non-Japanese hotel chains. I used 2 restaurants and 1 bar. Japanese restaurant was very well done- special menu for guests was reasonable... More

Stayed here at the beginning of Golden Week....hotel was very busy with many Chinese visitors and High School groups. Room was large with great views over Lake Biwa (20th floor) The mystery plan offered room only at a very reasonable cost but the room had a faint smell of smoke (maybe a smoking room as the booking was last minute)... Decided to stay at this hotel last month due to the high prices of hotels in Kyoto. Initial impressions of the hotel were good. We had a room on the 34th floor, which I think was one of the better rooms. The room was very large and had a lovely view over the lake, however it was somewhat dated and... More

I stayed at this hotel to visit Kyoto in the highest Cherry Blossom season (mid April) because all of my favorite hotels in Kyoto had already been fully booked even in November !! This Otsu Prince hotel has several good points to stay especially in the highest season. No.1: It is very convenient that they have a concierge in Kyoto... More

My first night in Japan, and was very happy with the size of the room, had difficulty with the air condition but otherwise the room was fine. Managed to find out how to override the japanese version of CNN and BBC news. There is a shuttle bus running on the hour to the train station and the hotel is within... More

Basic room but clean and tidy and had seperate toilet bathroom. Good views as very tall building. Breakfast was good. All seemed to have the same so not much variety, and always only slightly warm. If you want a hot breakfast get an omelet freshly cooked. In the morning going down was a problem, as we were only on floor... More

We were lucky enough to get a corner room with a view of the lake and the city behind. It was beautiful just a shame we didn't get better weather to improve he visibility. Highly recommend level 17 corner room purely for the views! The hotel room was spacious and it was good having a separate shower and toilet when... More

We stayed in this hotel because all hotels in Kyoto were fully booked. Our room was large and had a terrific view across the lake. If the weather had been nicer, we could have walked along the lake under the cherry blossoms. The bathroom was Japanese style with separate cubicles for the toilet and the deep bathtub. The shower was... More
