Just finished a 4 night stay here and couldn't really fault anything. The hotel sticks up like a beacon on Lake Biwa so you can't miss it. This gives you great views from the rooms and the restaurants. The room was large and comfortable and clean. The staff are very helpful, English is a bit hit and miss but hey,... More

Me and my wife stayed in 34 floor apartment and the views from there are breathtaking! Room size is very good (for Japan), it was very clean and well equipped. Station is about 20 minute walk, but there is a free bus going to and from the station every 30 minutes, just be sure to get the schedule from the... More

One good thing is the price, ralatively cheaper than hotel in Kyoto. But room is not so clean, service is not good, location is far from nearest station. In total my staying experience was not good.

Its about 12-15 min. from Kyoto by train, There are shuttle bus from Otsu station every half hour until 9PM. Hotel got clean room and polite staff, free wifi, only tea (Green & red Tea), no coffee in room. Room is fair size, but compare with the 20-30% premium they charge for rooms in down town Kyoto, I think its... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August during our 6 night Kyoto visit. We had actually booked a house right downtown Kyoto but due to some itinerary change, were only able to stay there for the latter 3 days. So we needed to find a place in the Kyoto area for the first 3 nights until our rented house... More

We were unable to find a decent hotel for 2 day/nights stay in Kyoto, so, we decided to stay in Otsu princes hotel. We drove from Chiba to Hakone with a rented Prius all the way, so it wasn't a problem to get the hotel before it's too dark. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we booked... More

This isn't the cheapest hotel you're going to find, but we felt the price represented very good value. As you can see in the pictures this is a very large hotel, certainly the largest in the area and so you won't have any difficulty finding it. The reception staff are very helpful and speak English well. The pool looked excellent,... More

The views from the lake are fantastic absolutely. Rooms are more spacious than average Japanese hotels. But that's all about it. The furniture are old and the whole facility is tired. The bicycle rental fees are good for hourly use insane for daily rides. The lobby and front desk are bare and resemble a bubble economy era cheap business hotel.... More

Loved my stay at this hotel. The room was pretty big with a really awesome view of Lake Biwa. It's also pretty convenient as the supermarket is about 5 to 10 mins walk away. An alternative would be to rent a bicycle from the reception and cycle out.
