This big lakeside hotel which is located a short distance from the city center was basically empty in these waning days (26 - 28) of February which gave it an eery feeling. However, it is a good (albeit not new) hotel with VERY friendly staff and therefore, recommendable. Our room had a great view of Lake Biwa. The Japanese style... More

The hotel is in Otsu which is 15 - 20 min by train from Kyoto. The closest train station to the hotel is Zeze (15 min walk). They also have a free bus shuttle to Otsu train staion every half hour starting at 8:15 and ending around 9 pm. The rooms are big, greate view and some of them are... More

Stayed one night in October in a room on the 30th floor. The view is fantastic and the service was very good. The rooms could use a little TLC but they are large and have the Japanese bathroom with large soaking tub. Booked early and got a great rate and would definitel go back the next time I am in... More

I decided to travel to Biwako just a day before. The best hotel I could find was Otsu Prince. All rooms are lake facing and were not expensive either. Stay was excellent, variety of restaurants they had was an added attraction. I recommend it!

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is very nice--rooms are clean, there's a nice deep Japanese style tub in the rooms. Lake Biwa is right across the street, but there isn't much else directly around the hotel. Food was good--we ate at the buffets both nights and there was a nice breakfast buffet also.

This is a very functional hotel in a beautiful setting, on the shore of Lake Biwa. When I was there, Wi-Fi was available free. The staff were very helpful though English is not easily spoken here. The hotel is NOT in Kyoto; it is about 15 minutes north of Kyoto. It is more of a vacation and wedding hotel, as... More

Every hotel in Kyoto was booked solid for the peak of the cherry blossom season and this hotel was the only one we could find. It is VERY expensive and quite ordinary. It is huge and stands alone along a lake with admittedly a great view. It's not near restaurants, temples or train stations. The rooms are spacious with individual... More

Stayed here on business, so I wasn't paying for the room, but I'd be very disappointed if I had. I get the feeling that this was supposed to be the "luxury" hotel in Otsu, but they really nickel and dime you for the price you pay. Rooms did not have wireless (you had to pay an extra charge to get... More

We stayed at this hotel for a night, during our business trip to Kyoto. Situated at Lake Biwa, one thing one must do when staying here is to get a room facing the lake and wake up very early in the morning and experience the sunrise....the changing colours, the different hues reflected on the clouds and the lake...it is simply...
