I stayed at the Hotel Nikko Nara as part of a communication support to a group of travel agents. The hotel is attached directly to JR Nara Train Station by a wide pedestrian bridge. Anyone with heavy luggage will not have to worry about stairs when getting from the platform to their hotel room. Once inside the airy lobby, gracious... More

I stayed one week with my family in this hotel and our experience was good. The rooms are good size and very clean. The location is just perfect at the train station and near everything, even the temples are walking distance. Something to improve is the spa.

Not getting a room in Osaka, we got rooms in this hotel, and we were satisfied. The rooms were nice, clean, and the bathroom was really interesting because we had separate toilet, and it was a wet bathroom. Nice! Breakfast was typical Japan hotel breakfast, but really GOOD.

After being in Tokyo and Osaka, the trip to Nara was refreshing. The town is smaller and more quaint, in spite of the many tourists. The Nara station is small and easy to navigate. The Hotel was just outside the station, and so convenient. The room was decent size. It did have an upholstered sofa which we didn't sit on--need... More

Spent a night here, for a day touring around Nara. Got off the train at Nara station, and the hotel is next to it, a short 20 metre walk. The staff were very friendly as we left our bags with them early, so we could sightsee. The rooms were slightly bigger then the normal Japanese hotels. There was a vending... More

This hotel is next to the trainstation of Nara. You can walk into mainstreet with all kind of shops and restaurants. Its 2 km walk to the park (nice route). The restaurants in the hotel look a bit boaring. Get your breakfast in a french lunchroom in the main station just 1 minute walk! Room is clean and staff is... More

If you're using a JR pass to get around Japan this is a good hotel choice. It has an excellent rail station location. You simply walk across a small plaza and you're here! Also the buses to Nara Park and the temple depart the rail station. It couldn't be a more convenient location. The hotel has no major flaws, on... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Tokyo Bay while in Japan but booked this place for one night so we could do a day in Kyoto and then stay in Nara that evening and spend the following day there. I'll start by saying that for the reasonable price we paid, this place (as per title) served its purpose.... More

We booked a standard double. The room was nothing special, relatively small but not tiny. The bathroom was tiny with no counter space to put things and amenities (shampoo and no soap in shower but body wash) were not great. The bed was very hard so didn't sleep very well. The location was OK with pluses and minuses. It was... More

By Japanese standards the rooms were of a large size. 2 queen beds, side table and chairs. Worked well for 2 adults and 2 kids. Large Japanese style bathroom. The hotel is located adjacent to Nara station, which makes travel by train or bus easy. Not far by car / taxi / bus to Nara Park (with the Deer). We... More
