We were told it is 104 years old and they furnished its small and narrow rooms in the most lovely and creative way. Old Japanese style meets bamboo matts in rasta colours.... More

This guesthouse is run by the nicest guys!! I was an idiot when I booked this place and accidentally booked hostel world's default three night instead of my intended one. I know, I'm an idiot. But upon arrival he was so nice about it and didn't even penalize me, he just requested I pay for my one night's stay. That... More

Engakudo was very lovely. The authentic Japanese-style guest house with a tatami-matt floors and sliding doors. The owner was really friendly with a great DVD collection. I wish I could've stayed another night just to feel so at home :)

The climb up the stairs was very steep ( like a ladder) and awkward with a pack sack. The kitchen was a simple hot plate and small... More

This backpacker style guesthouse is located at just in front of Himeji castle, which is Kokuho(national heirloom) in Japan, and close enough 15min walk from Himeji station. Owner is very friendly and easy going, happy to share anything with tourist. Though shower is little shabby but who cares with this sort of real deal experience! (Much better than India anyway,... From the moment we got into the guesthouse we fell in love in this place. The atmosphere was calm and very authentic. The owner was friendly and helpful, and speaks fluante English. The location is very good (2 minutes walk from the himeji castle and 15minutes from the main street). We had a good time there. It really feels like... More

If you're looking for a good night in Himeji, you've to sleep in Engakudou. You'll live a real Japanese experience, sleeping in a real Japanese house. The owner it's very nice and funny, he loves manga and he has lots of things of this kind of cartoons. The price for the dorms are cheap 2.500 yen per person. They've free... More
