The lodge is beautiful and cozy, bunkbeds comfortable and private. It was exactly what I needed after a long day of hiking! Be aware that while it is situated in a scenic and safe spot the walk back from the centre is VERY dark as the streets are not well lit. Would reccomend a flashlight and using gps to locate... More

The hostel is nice and clean with electric blankets and heater. Only challenge is that there are just 2 toilets and 1 shower that has to be shared among 8 people if the dorm is full, which unfortunately it was one of the 3 days I was staying there. Staff speaks good English but they are difficult to spot and... More

The Nikko Park Lodge mountainside location is a French chalet nestled on a Japanese mountain. It is in the 21st Century but has the ambience of a pension in a 19th Century English novel and the decor of your coolest cousin's 1960s off campus commune - really, stained glass lampshades and a photo of John Lennon on the wall:) Everything... I can't rate this place highly enough. To start with here are the basics: 1. The hotel is lovely - nothing flashy, but you feel like you're at home. A very comfortably living/dining room with great sofas/internet access/tv showing international news. 2. The bedrooms are very comfortable and quite siple. Our friends stayed in a mezzanine style room, which was... More

My new Husband and I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of April. We had a lovely corner room with a little view of the snow dusted mountains. We enjoyed the slightly rustic atmosphere of the lodge and were treated like Old friends by Ken and his staff. We ate at the lodge four out of five nights and the same... We stayed for one night, and took advantage of the afternoon pick-up service from their 2nd guesthouse by Tobu Nikko station, otherwise it may have been a bit tricky to get to as it's in a nice secluded location in the hills. The main room was cosy and we very much enjoyed our dinner there - although you probably wont... More

This place has potential but the organization is today quite chaotic. One day we paid our bill for the whole time of staying to one person of the staff and next day another demanded us to pay again. We asked very carefully about the person number one what was included but suddenly the person number two wanted paid for our... More

Ken the owner seems like a nice guy. I was a tad disappointed that although the web stated they had a cafe, bar etc when I stayed nothing was open. Even the store sign said they were open but they were not which sucked a bit because I was travelling by myself and was hoping to at least talk to... More

We stayed in the Nikko park lodge for two days in November. This was the best time to visit as it was autumn and the wooded hills around the lodge were a visual treat for us. The lodge itself is little far from the main station and town square, but for those in love with nature, this is the perfect... More

This Lodge is located away from Nikko city. They provided the free shuttle from/to Nikko station (either Tobu or JR). It's located in the countryside. In the autumn season, the tree leaves around the hotel will become to red and yellow. It's fantastic. The owner (Mr.Ken) and other staff are very very kind and hospitality. Mr.Ken speak English very well.... More
