This place is pretty good. The owner is AWESOME! He took me and my friends over to this great mountain top. He's really nice and makes your stay absolutely complete. The area Nikko itself seems to only attract the older crowd..but it's a great break from the busy Tokyo town. And they have a few Hot Springs in the area..... more

I stayed in the Nikko Park Lodge for two nights as a single traveller. The lodge itself was very welcoming, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the interior and layout of the lodge was very welcoming and relaxing. My room was great I had a private double room, which had its own bathroom. The room itself was very... more

We stayed at the Nikko Park Lodge from April 23-25. We would definitely go back. The only thing I would recommend to them is that they make it more clear on their website that towels are not supplied. I knew this from reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Of course, it is a hostel, even if it has private rooms... more

My husband and I spent a night at the Nikko Park Lodge on the 15th November 2007. Out of all the places we stayed during our fourteen day trip, this was the best. Our room was small but cosy, had heating, electric blanket, TV and en suite. Very comfortable all up, the owner Ken is fantastic, as soon as we... more

I chose this hotel because of good reviews at Trip Advisor. After staying there, I thought that maybe the reviews were written by either workers there or friends of the owner. If not, then the standards of those who wrote the reviews are very low. This is my 3rd trip to Japan and we have travelled extensively throughout that country,... more

As others -- we picked this hotel due to it`s rating on TripAdvisor and becuase it was non-smoking (the latter being harder to find in Japan). We found it to be a quirky but nice simple hotel. It is off the main drag by about a 10 minute walk down hill back to the train/bus stations. (We always took a... more

This lodge was highly recommended by Tripadvisor members for reasons I can understand - the owner (there are 3 actually and the gentleman we interacted with is Zen-san). He is courteous and helpful. The common area at the lodge also gives you a very homely feeling, in an American sort of way. If you are travelling alone or with one... more

This is the best accomodation we stayed at during our 14 day trip to Japan, the rooms are basic but have everything you would need and are very clean. The Zen dinner is excellent and well worth trying. What really makes this place though, is the friendliness of the staff. Ken the owner even gave us our own personal tour... more

Based on the first review of Nikko Park Lodge, I made a reservation in July 2006 and enjoyed my stay very much. The location is outside of Nikko 'city', but not far. It is about a 3 minute walk from Nikko Park Lodge to the Nikko wood carving establishment. Just a short walk away from the wood carver's is a... more
