25 minutes walk but only 10 minutes by taxi from Nikko station. Warm welcome with english explanation. Very nice and extremely friendly staff Naoko. Nice Japanese bathing with view on the river. Also with kids this is a very nice place. Good breakfast and fairly close by the World Heritage Shrines(15 min walk). In short: extremely good service, nice hotel,... More

We enjoyed the natural setting, onsen on site with view of river and mountains. Room was basic, small, and a large spider entertained us in our room. Breakfast is fresh fruit with egg and bread, and fresh juice, The Annex is a short walk to the bus stop, 15 minute walk to the National Park Shrine Complex. The soothing sounds... More

Some of the things that make this inn great for me, might make it the wrong match for you. I was very comfortable and the longer I stayed (only two nights) the better I liked the inn. It is on the banks of the Daiya River and there is the constant sound of the river cascading through the gorge and... More

Located in a quiet part of Nikko beside the Daiya River. To find it, walk away from the town for about ten minutes, cross a bridge and it is at the end of the road becomes a footpath leading to the row of Jizo statues. It is an incredibly relaxing place to stay. The rooms have traditional tatami mats and... More

we stayed in a typical Japanese style room (ryokan style) with beds on the floor and paper windows. the room was cozy, beds were comfortable and the toilet was ok, even if not too big. Nikko is a cold place, and nights were cold too, but the room had an electric stove that heated well the room. what's cool about... More

Very friendly owner/operator. Interesting part of town - easy to access the sites. However, the hostel itself is hard to find when you first get to town. It is quite a way from the station and you have to cross the river twice. It was clean and neat. Private rooms. Very quiet area. We went to a nearby chinese food... More

First went here 20 years ago and it was newly opened with an amazing onsen overlooking the river. It is still just as nice and homey as back then. A bit of a hike from the train stations (JR and Asakusa) but well worth it. Not a terribly long hike to Toshugu and all of its wonders. The trail behind... More

Along with our friends, we were the only guests the second night of our stay, although there were others on the first night. Location is peaceful and near the sites but a bus ride or long walk from town. This meant a long trek for dinner as the place only did evening meals on Saturday. Enjoyed the onsen which unusually... The tourist information center in Nikko station recommended here, so we stayed here without any information, and it was mistake. I visited here with my mother and she said the room was not clean at all. At first to me it looked okay, but later my mother said she saw a cockroach between the blankets. Ewwwww. What a terrible hotel.... More

We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Japanese room which was quite comfortable. The futons were thick enough that no one complained at all in the morning of being stiff and the room was a good size for the four of us. We opened the window to... More
