We stayed three nights in a Japanese-style family room. The room was fine, if a bit basic, with plenty of space for our one-year-old to crawl around and explore. Excellent location next to the river (the calming sound of which was all we could hear at night), a short walk from the town. All the major sights can be reached... More

This is a wonderful family run B&B close to all attractions. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious. Sleeping on futons was cool. The rooms have heaters and A/C. Bathroom is fine with all you need. Lovely common areas, very comfortable and a nice bath. You can also avail of the cost effective and simple breakfast too. I would definitely recommend... More

It was a place I stayed in for a couple of nights in Nikko and I it was a great choice. It is clean, friendly and a quiet place you can really enjoy after a few days in busy Tokyo or Kyoto. I have a feeling it is a family-run hostel located at the end of street from where you... More

We stayed here two nights. Our room (family room) was spacious with a living area, bedroom (western style) and a bathroom. The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful, and breakfast was nice, although limited. The location was pretty good - two restaurants within walking distance that are open in the evening, plus two convenience stores, it's a bit... More

We were greeted by a lovely lady with excellent English, who was extremely helpful. She helped us plan our new year's holiday around Nikko. The reception and breakfast area are cosy and feature a lovely pottery shop. Breakfast was fruit, bread, coffee and a boiled egg for a small cost, served at 0800 or 0830. There were additional items on... More

A little out of Central Nikko, this small lodge was clean, comfortable and cosy. I was allocated the corner room overlooking the river that runs right next to the lodge - a lovely view and the sound of the river running was lovely. I was there while it was quiet season - there isn't much soundproofing so could hear everybody... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The Inn itself was quite an experience for us coming from Scotland and never having experienced futons and onsen. We loved the Onsen and found it so relaxing after a day walking around the local sights. Our bedroom faced out to the river and it was good... More

We enjoyed this questhouse for several reasons. The staff were welcoming and helpful, our room was the largest and most comfortable of any ryokan or guesthouse we stayed in (with its own private bathroom and excellent fit-out) and bonuses included breakfast, forest views from the room window, and an onsen in the building. And best of all, as it is... More

We visited in October to enjoy the leaves and cool crisp air! Our room overlooked the river which we loved for the sights and sounds. We bought breakfast for $10.00 a person which consisted of fruits, breads and juice. Like one other reviewer, we were surprised it wasn't included in the cost of the room.. We also enjoyed the private... More

It was our first japanese style experience and we enjoyed everything - sleeping on tatami, wearing kimono and taking their famous baths. Room was spacios and lovely and the bath was a dream! I liked this hotel more than Nikko Turtle that was had to book and the stay there was disappointing. Annex is a little further to the main... More
