Parking was behind the hotel, beside the river. When we reached, the staff came out with a map to tell us how to make our way there. The corner to turn is right beside a small sake shop on the left. We got one of the larger rooms (from the floor plan provided with the meal coupon) and I think... More

I spent only one night there. I think that the fact that it's publish like ryokan, the price become over . It's ok, but not more. The staff is nice but the speak a very basis English. Of course you sleep on a futon on the floor. The breakfast is ok but not much. I will never return there.°

Located just outside the shrines temples, Tokino Yu is a nice Ryokan/Hotel place for a one or two nights stay. The Japanese rooms are big, clean and comfortable. They have an elegant touch and so does the reception. An onsen is also available on the ground floor. Only things that might be a bit off? Areas between reception and room... More

This was a nice and reasonable Japanese style hotel. Our room was a private room with toilet & bath/shower. However, as they had a wonderful Ofuro (public style bath), I enjoyed using that to soak instead. A European style breakfast was served in the little dining area. Parking was difficult to find and a bit far away. It was fun... More

If you plan to visit Nikko, make an overnight or 2 day trip out of it, and you won’t be disappointed. We decided to spend our time immediately after the Shinkansen trip from Tokyo at Lake Chuzenji, and we were not disappointed. We locked up our bags at the train station in the lockers, which are very affordable, safe, and... More

Nikko Tokinoyuu has a range of accommodations. We stayed in tatami rooms with a toilet and sink, but no bath or shower (There is a public hot spring style bath for guests in the hotel that was perfect at the end of the day for soaking away the foot weariness and tired thighs that come with the hillside stair climbs... Visited Tokino Yu on 10 Nov and absolutely enjoyed the stay! It was a bit difficult to locate at first as the car park is behind the hotel along a small road (next to a bank). However, the front desk showed us our dedicated parking lot and allowed us to check in early. The room is quite spacious and well... More

Easy to reach using public transportation. Helpful hotel staff. Comfortable room. We used the hot baths located inside the hotel, which were nice. Inside the hotel there were hot food vending machines. Free WIFI is in the hotel lobby only. Breakfast was a disappointment, as it was Wester style, while we were expecting a Japanese style breakfast.

My family of three traveled to Nikko to see the World Heritage sites, and this hotel looked very convenient on the map, so we chose it. I'm so glad we did! A very short taxi ride from the Nikko JR station, or a 15-20 minute walk, but in the August heat, we opted for a cab. The desk staff were... More

This hotel is strategically and conveniently located as it is simply almost in front of the National Park where you find the World Heritage Shrines and Temples, leading up to it is the Shinkyo (Sacred Bridge) which is probably the most photographed icon in the area apart from the Kegon Falls. The hotel is in front of Bus Stop No.... More
