We recently stayed at Nikko Inn in January. The place is nice & owner is a very helpful. Kitchen comes complete with all the cutlery, pots & pans, including salt, pepper, cooking oil & mirin. But I feel that the place is not so convenient as the station just in front of the ryokan is not included in the JR... More

When we arrived at the station, we were a little doubtful- dropped in the middle of nowhere, we wondered what we had got ourselves into. But, oh, were we wrong! We were led by the suarve hipster manager of the inn, to our cute ryokan on the other side of the tracks. We were amazed to see a traditional Japanese... More

We stayed at Sakura cottage for one night simply because it was the only night available. And thank god we weren't staying there another night. I could understand what they are trying to achieve by turning some old Japanese huts into cottages. They are calling it "rustic" and "non-commercialized", but I would say it's just run down and unkept. Fridge... More

We were so happy to arrive at Nikko Inn, Akira picked us up from the train station in his car, he is absolutely lovely and bent over backwards to assist us with absolutely everything he could! Nikko itself is around 20 mins by train, but that isn't a problem at all as the train station is literally on Nikko Inns... More

You can buy 5 stars luxury hotel, but you can't buy the experience from Nikko Inn! It's more than a hotel, but an experience~! I get to see the other side of Japan, a side that most of tourist will miss. It's easy to get there, and I really wish I can stay more than one night! The Sakura Style... More

Unfortunately, we stayed only night at Nikko Inn (Momo house). Great Japanese style rooms with stylish interior. iPad is provided to listen to music and watch video over AirPlay. Akira, the owner, speaks English well and is very helpful and friendly. If possible, I would advise to stay more than one night to fully enjoy the awesome Nikko Area. But... More

My two teenage sons and I stayed two nights here. The rustic, traditional cottage is exactly what we were looking for - like a little slice of life from a Studio Ghibli movie. The cottage we stayed in has two rooms, with a small kitchen, a bathroom with a western toilet, and a deep tub for soaking. The kitchen has a... More

We stayed at Nikko Inn for few days during the Japanese Golden Week. It is a perfect base to visit Nikko and all its attractions but also enjoy hiking opportunities (dont miss the Senjogahara hike) and the many onsen in the region (we loved Yumoto and its sulphurous waters). The weather was quite rainy during our stay, so we really... More

We stayed here for 2 nights over Easter & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is an ideal size for two, is v uncluttered & simple - there was additional heating which made the rooms very warm & comfortable. I loved the small deep Japanese bath – great! The kitchen was well equipped but we didn’t cook, we had beer... More

The house is nicely designed and the local area is interesting. We had a rental car so it was easy to go to the store/restaurants etc. The noodle restaurant located close to Nikko inn is highly recommendable. I would have given the place 5 star if there had been a more secluded location with some views.
