The hotel is great! It's located near all main Nikko attractions (you need bus stop Tomazava Imperial villa - it goes from bus stop number one and three located near Tobu Nikko railway station). Onsen was one of the best we've been - spacious, stone pool and with camelia tree nearby. The dinner was nicely served and very tasty. Recommend... More

Was here in Dec 14. It was snowing when we arrived at the hotel, and we were treated well while we were having the Ekibans which we bought at Tokyo Station. Attentive service was given throughout our lunch; towels to dry ourselves, wet napkins to refresh our faces, and soups to go around without additional charge at all. When we... More

Checked ourselves in from 22-24 October 2013. Read one review which said alight at station number 9, which we did, and found ourselves with no ryokan in sight! We checked with a nearby shop whose lady owner told us it was actually station number 10 (Tamozawa Imperial Villa stop)! She advised that it was possible to walk to the ryokan... More

Stayed in this Ryokan from the 29 March to 1-April 2013. My daughter booked it using the Japanese website. Was about a two kilometer from the Tobu Nikko station. You can take Bus A or B and stop at station number 9. We managed to get the hotel staff to pick us up at the train station. It's about 300m... More

Spent 2 nights here with my wife and two daughters (students). We really enjoyed the experience and found the staff to be friendly and helpful (although very limited English is spoken). Rooms were clean and well presented. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic (if challenging to the western palate) with many different dishes and different on both days. Although overall... More

I booked a night at this 'Ryokan' hotel hoping for a great Japanese-experience, instead my girlfriend and I were subjected to a cheap-looking, tacky hotel experience and at an expensive-enough price. We had already stayed in a few other, less expensive places on our 3 week travels around Japan and we were really looking forward to experiencing a true Japanese... More
