They gave us smoking rooms as they were "fully booked" however they then asked us to pay extra for a better class of room that was non-smoking. Terrible service. The hotel is tired and overpriced. They turned the air-conditioning off overnight which was awful as the windows can't be opened. Never ever would I stay here.

Rather different from Tokyo hotels in that the rooms are large, with expansive views across the town. While all surfaces were clean, and everything worked as it should, the hotel is showing its age and, by Japan standards, badly needs a refurbishment. To see damaged and scuffed furniture, and badly stained lamp-shades (see pictures with this review) is quite unusual... More

The Kawagoe Prince is an older hotel. One night was enough. It is very clean, not too noisy and close to a station. It does most things OK, but nothing very well. For the money I have stayed in much better. A redeeming feature is the Starbucks at the entrance closest to the station, a god place for breakfast.

clean comfortable rooms of good size. Breakfast is poor, almost zero fruit available though there are several Asian choices and adequate western varieties the choice is limited. The bar is ok but with smoking the norm is unpleasant to those who no longer have to endure smelling of tobacco. The bar prices are ok except for wine of which they... More

We stayed for a night at this hotel in a double bed room. The location is excellent as it took us only 12-15 minutes to reach the sightseeing areas on foot. The staff was friendly. The best part was the starbucks on the groundfloor. Since my husband and i love their beverages, it made the trip even more pleasant. I... More

Only stayed here one nights - wish had been more- probably the most friendly staff I have ever experienced. I had trouble with setting the sat-nav and they did everything they could, including phoning a Nissan dealer to get instructions, cool. Nice little town, including a very small (standing only no room for chairs) bar which was great and after... More

The hotel is nice and big for a Japan standard. The only drawback is that it is a little far from JR station (for those travelling on JR pass). We made mistake on our reservation, the front desk immediately rectify it and have the authorization to do so. Starbucks in the building. Good Location for those wanting to explore OLD... More

Stayed here for 11 nights in July. Hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very central location with Hon Kawagoe Station next door to the hotel. The staff were very attentive and had very good English.

Great breakfast. Clean atmosphere. Comfortable bed. Near by Starbucks and shopping mall. Seven eleven opposite. Kawagoe hon metro station is @ ground floor. Kita in temple walking 15 min. I stayed during a business trip in Tokyo. Usually staying in shibuya earlier. Here lot cheaper but more service

I stay here a lot. It is very close to everything you need. Sightseeing is but a 5 minute walk. Honda is close. The rooms are nothing to write home about, but they are clean and the internet is fast. There is a great little restaurant "BIG" behind the hotel - go go go (and have the tsukune). Don't expect... More
