A great location near Yamashita Park yet the hotel is worn down to the point where we can't recommend it. The carpets were a bit stained, the walls as well. Worst of all, our room smelled of stale smoke, to the point that I was awake the first night. We figured out the window and air conditioner and that helped... More

We stayed for 3 days prior to a cruise and were very happy with the location. NIce big park across the street with excellent harborside walking opportunities. It is only a few blocks from a subway station with access to Yokohama Station. Most of the local attractions and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel. Chinatown is only two... More

If you are taking a cruise from Yokohama, this is the only hotel you should consider. You can walk to cruise port in 10 minutes along the sea front. The hotel is 1st class, everything was perfect..I had a very nice double room overlooking the harbor, and I could see my ship pull in...cool. Breakfast was very good, all staff spoke English.

On the face of it there's not too much wrong with this hotel - but as they say: "it's the little things that make the difference. First off, most Brits who arribe here do so early in the morning because oft he flight times from London to Tokyo. The upshot was that there were literally 40 people waiting for hours... More

I recently had a French course menu at a wedding reception here, so assume the food & staff service review would be relevant to those offered at the hotel and its French restaurant, Escale. The food and service were pretty good overall. We had a course including an app (quiche Lorraine), soup (creamy pumpkin), fish(perch/bass), beef and dessert. The only... More

The hotel has been around since many years and is a landmark hotel as most taxi drivers do not need to look up the address. The name is enough. Its location across the park on the sea front makes it a desirable hotel where all you want to do is sit near the window and see the ships in the... More

We stayed at the Hotel Monterey as a final stop on our 2 week tour of Japan. From the start this stay was going to be a problem. As we arrived after 2 pm we expected the room to be available, it was not. After a 30 minute wait and a great bit of customer service provided by Rie Nakahama... More

The location of the hotel is perfect - right on the sea front with spectacular views across the Bay. Great access to walks along the front and a large shopping mall, 'World Porters'. Just a short walk from China Town (very expensive to eat here). We asked to change to a sea view room on the first night, which the... More

i stayed here for 1 night and had a good experience. it is a no frills business hotel, but had everything i needed. the room was enormous by japanese standards and the bed was comfortable. the location was also good, walking distance from sights along the water and close to chinatown. for the price, it really can't be beat.

We arrived late at night and were greeted warmly. The receptionist spoke excellent English and past on his regret that we were only staying the one nigh (we should have been there for a couple of days but Cyclone Ita delayed our departure from Cairns as the airport closed) Our room was warm and well furnished with every amenity and...
