Cannot express how much of love i have for this Ryokan. Still here in my room as i am typing this because i am excited to share my reviews. Some might claim that furnitures might be shabby but this is old gold. Traditional at its best and definitely what i came to experience. Staffs are beyond friendly and their dinner... More

Let me begin by saying that I can really recommend going to Hakone if you're staying in Tokyo and have enough time - you'll get to see a quite different side of Japan. There is a direct connection from Shinjuku station which gets you to Hakone reasonably fast. We stayed for one night and wanted to experience a traditional Japanese... More

I was really impressed with this ryokan from the start. Upon arriving early, the English speaking staff were really helpful in explaining everything about the ryokan and onsen, as well as the transport in the local area. The room was particularly spacious and comfortable (only slight complaint would be the rather cold bathroom but this could not really be helped... More

We made a few changes before deciding on this ryokan and I must say the call was absolutely right. The service is impeccable - most staff speak English, with the waitress serving our room speaking excellent English with no discernible accent. The onsen is also fantastic - make sure you book one with private onsen included so you can enjoy... More

This was our 2nd visit. 1st was in April just me and my hubs. This time round, with the family, 7 of us. When we asked the kids what they enjoyed most about Japan, they said Hakone cuz they get to sleep on the futon and dip in the onsen. As a couple, you get to enjoy 30mins in their... More

This onsen was super cute! I've stayed in a few onsens before and I'd say this one was better than almost all the others. We stayed there for a day and thoroughly enjoyed our 10 course dinner and breakfast. They are super serious about their pheasant so if you're not excited about interesting new foods, that could be an issue.... More

The place is only 8 minutes by bus from the main station Hakone Yumoto. The onsen indoors and outside are very nice, the rooms have a nice view (the lobby not so much). The staff is friendly and helpful in every way. For dinner (in your own room) you only can choose 3 times; 18:00, 18:30 and 19:00. For breakfast... More

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay here in November. We have stayed at a ryokan before in Kyoto and enjoyed the authentic Japanese experience Pros 1. The outdoor baths are excellent. These public baths are segregated by gender most of the day but you can reserve the baths for private use in the evening. Make sure to... More

This Japanese ryokan, tucked away in the Hakone Valley, is one of the best places I have every stayed. A truly wonderful experience that is totally relaxing and refreshing from a busy travel schedule. Our personal attendant, Kukuro, was attentive, warm, inviting, personable, efficient, great sense of humor, and made our stay a life-long memory. From the traditional ryokan, to... More

It is advisable not to travel with large or too many pieces of luggages when visiting Hakone. Hence we sent our large suitcases from Tokyo to Kyoto which is our next destination. Arriving at Hakone Yumoto train station, a taxi ride would be 1400 yen hence we took a shuttle bus No B which cost us 100 Yen each. The... More
