Really beautiful place close but far enough from busy (especially on the weekend) Yumoto station. The best hot springs we encountered in our short trip around Japan. Stone bath was really hot, but body feels so light after it, worth trying. Hotel may look a bit old, but everything in a good condition, plus some equipment were recently renovated. There... More

Ignore the older reviews. Before booking, we were reading the reviews of this place and while generally positive, we got the impression that it was extremely rundown. People commented on the lack of heating, wi-fi, adequate facilities, it was next to a busy road, etc. The reason we chose this place, despite those reviews, was because we really wanted to... More

Fantastic Japanese experience in a very old traditional building. We had a lovely large tatami mat room overlooking the river. Comfortable futon bed on the floor laid out for us after dinner we had in our room. Food was amazing with different textures and flavours. Enjoyed wearing the traditional Yakata around the property and soaking in the Onsen which added... More

Fukuzumiro is gorgeous and I will definitely be back! Had a lovely stay here earlier this week. My hostess was very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. I had a beautiful room over looking the river, which I could hear as I went to sleep and which was such a treat to wake up to. Very traditional... More

This is a beautiful, traditional Ryokan, steps away from the bus stop. Old wooden floors that flex and creak when you walk on them. Immaculately clean. Typical hard working staff who, even despite their limited English, were wonderful hosts and very easy to communicate with. Food was excellent. Don't order the Western Breakfasts though.

This is one of the traditional ryokans close to Tokyo and also close to mount Fuji. You will experience traditional meal and private onsen. The private onsen is not in your room but you can book it anytime of day. I'm vegetarian and by the time of booking I requested vegetarian food. They kindly accepted and prepared my meal fully... This is a very traditional ryokan. The building itself is like a piece of art, full of history and charm. We stayed at Sakura III. It's a very spacious room with the river view. Sitting at the balcony with a cup of tea in hand, and looking outside the big window at the running stream and the nearby mountain, life... More

Fantastic! Experiencing old Japan going back in time. Sleeping on a comfortable Futon and hearing running water from the river outside your room. The banquet was delicious. The service was meticulous. The Onsen separate for men and women was very relaxing. The staff were very helpful We asked for the river room

Wonderful Ryokan, with a very nice termal onsen, very helpful personnel, precise and kind. The structure is a very traditional residence, we spent a night there, in a nice room with a big window open to a mountain stream, and its sound accompanied us pleasantly during our stay. It seemed to us to being transported into another time: very romantic... More

Wonderful and charming ryokan for travellers who looking for a real traditional style ryokan. We was impressed by the mountain & river view outside our window. Sharing onsen was our first experience that couldn't miss. Staffs are lovely and helpful. This Ryokan is very well organized in Japanese way. Must says, Fukuzumiro Ryokan is Highlight of our Hakone trip.
