This is a beautiful, traditional Ryokan, steps away from the bus stop. Old wooden floors that flex and creak when you walk on them. Immaculately clean. Typical hard working staff who, even despite their limited English, were wonderful hosts and very easy to communicate with. Food was excellent. Don't order the Western Breakfasts though.

This is one of the traditional ryokans close to Tokyo and also close to mount Fuji. You will experience traditional meal and private onsen. The private onsen is not in your room but you can book it anytime of day. I'm vegetarian and by the time of booking I requested vegetarian food. They kindly accepted and prepared my meal fully... This is a very traditional ryokan. The building itself is like a piece of art, full of history and charm. We stayed at Sakura III. It's a very spacious room with the river view. Sitting at the balcony with a cup of tea in hand, and looking outside the big window at the running stream and the nearby mountain, life... More

Fantastic! Experiencing old Japan going back in time. Sleeping on a comfortable Futon and hearing running water from the river outside your room. The banquet was delicious. The service was meticulous. The Onsen separate for men and women was very relaxing. The staff were very helpful We asked for the river room

Wonderful Ryokan, with a very nice termal onsen, very helpful personnel, precise and kind. The structure is a very traditional residence, we spent a night there, in a nice room with a big window open to a mountain stream, and its sound accompanied us pleasantly during our stay. It seemed to us to being transported into another time: very romantic... More

Wonderful and charming ryokan for travellers who looking for a real traditional style ryokan. We was impressed by the mountain & river view outside our window. Sharing onsen was our first experience that couldn't miss. Staffs are lovely and helpful. This Ryokan is very well organized in Japanese way. Must says, Fukuzumiro Ryokan is Highlight of our Hakone trip.

This is a really old, authentic ryokan! I wax lyrical about the magnificent view outside our window - a brook, shrubs - we couldn't ask for more. The place overall is a bit run down, the onsen is nice although initially not inviting at all. I do have a problem with their toilets.

I guess if you like being ordered around and told when to eat, sleep, wash, and are happy to pay $500 plus for a room that smells like socks then you'll be right at home here. The stairways are very dangerous for us older travellers and the amenities are just like the youth hostels I stayed in back in the 60's.... More

We stayed at Fukuzumiro as part of our honeymoon and stayed one night here during our two day stay in Hakone. The room was traditional, very spacious and had lovely views of the mountains and the stream flowing-by outside, there was even a long private balcony which was great place to unwind and listen to the river - very therapeutic!... The ryokan is a number of houses joined together, it's 10 min walk uphill from Hakone-Yumoto station, or 100yen on Ryokan Shuttle C from the tourist office. The food was very good and plentiful. The service was a little pushy, but lots of fun. The room guide in the bedroom tells you all you need to know and there were... More
