We chose this hotel for our one-night stay in Hakone specifically because it has rooms that faces Mount Fuji, and we weren't disappointed. The room was large and spacious and the bed was so comfortable. In fact, it was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. Made us feel refreshed the next morning! When we booked our... Stayed here for two nights, very quiet and peaceful. Rooms very nice. Gardens beautiful. Rose garden should be a good place for a wedding when in full bloom. Close to port for trips on the lake and to the rope way. Try the desert restaurant close by and see a desert masterpiece created before your eyes ( try the apple... More

The hotel is within walking distance (15mins) to Moto-Hakone harbour, but if you're not a fan of walking they have a small shuttle bus departing the hotel every 20mins and it will take you there and back during the day. We stayed for two nights in a room on the 4th (top) floor. We booked a double room, but somehow... More

Unfortunately we only stayed one night on a brief trip to Hakone at this beautifully located lakeside hotel, following a stay at a ryokan in the town. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, the rooms were very comfortable and the hotel was a lovely place to come back to, following a day's exploration in the rain. It was comforting... More

Upon arrival in Odawara station it unfortunately had started to rain. The trip with the Hakone Free pass is great and a good deal. And the hotel had a shuttle bus ready to pick us up from the bus station in Moto-Hakone. The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. As it was raining and foggy we... More

We left Tokyo and got to Hakone-Yumoto station easy enough via Odawara station. We could have taken a bus to Moto-Hakone but took a taxi to the hotel for about 5000 yen. I would recommend getting a bus from Odawara station to Moto-Hakone - we did the reverse on the way back and it was so much easier. There is... More

Stayed here for a night in September 2013. This was my second trip to Hakone in five years. The first visit was to the Prince Hotel, which is about a mile down the road. The grounds and building of Yamano were in outstanding condition. The staff were personable and eager to assist. The rooms were of good size and very... More

Wanted to get views of Mt Fuji and since was short on time and did a bit of research and chanced upon this hotel on a booking site. Was coming in from Kyoto on my last leg of my wonderful Japan trip. The journey from Kyoto via Shinkansen and Bus was long and a bit tiring but wonderfully scenic. If... More

Travelling by myself in July of 2007, I found myself in Moto-Hakone not knowing where I was going to stay. Didn't want to backtrack to the youth hostels a couple of busses and easily an hour away. All the hotels in town were sold out, but I had noticed Hotel de Yama's shuttle bus schedule at the bus stop, so... More
