Our stay here was absolutely amazing, and the staff were so helpful. They went far above and beyond the level of customer service we would expect from a hotel. From the very moment you step into the hotel, the staff greet you and provide you with a warm towel and a nice plum vinegar drink to relax. When you check... More

Wonderful onsen experience. Beautiful hotel, great onsen, the food was fabulous. Stayed in tatami room. Loved the entire experience. Luckily traveling with a Japanese friend who helped with translation. Would highly recommend this place.

We got the Superior Room with Tenbo- the most expensive room (of 3) in the hotel. The "Jacuzzi" bath had round nozzles and was too small for two people. The shower had an annoying swivel temperature control system- hard to get a temperature that you like- unlike the communal area with normal temperature control which was much better. They were... The location was "on the steep, hilly and winding road", and walking from train station could be an excercise for elders. We drove, and it was also a bit challenging as narrow passes around the hotel were rather hard to navigate through... In any case, my family arrived on Saturday afternoon, and check-in was quite smooth. They had some special... More

Our first time in a ryokan and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms with en suite bathroom and separate living area were very large, though these were probably especially for westerners and the more expensive option. Each room had a separate toilet (the type with the warmed seat and loads of button-pushing options), an area to make tea, a huge-windowed... More

My daughter and I stayed one night with the "Ladies Plan." The plan included a 60 minute massage (you can select body or feet), 1200 check out (regularly 1100), and they gave us a little box of incense when we checked out. The staff were very polite and the rooms were clean. I liked the outfits that were provided as... More

We arrived from the skyscrapers of Tokyo and this was very different. Most of the guests were Japanese. The room was clean but the decor was a little tired. We had a bedroom and a lounge with a table and tatami mats- and a wooden bath. Our rate included breakfast and dinner. The dinner was spectacular, course after course. (at... More

Its a lil bit out-dated and pricey, but everything else was over the top. First, we'r so glad that we picked Hakone Yumoto for the location, instead of Gora or Lake Ashi, for all the luggages that we had to drag around. There's a mini bus shuttle, cost 100JPY, with limited space for the luggage, or you can always take... More

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, thanks to the helpful staff. We booked in for three days, so on arrival we were upgraded to a larger room. The meals were stunning. We were allocated a waiter with very good English. One of our best Japanese stays.

My Wife and I spent 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet area, you can get there with a shuttle bus JPY 100 per person. The room was slacious with a 2 beds bedroom and a 8-tatami room. There was a large bathroom with a wooden bath and a very nice view. The room was... More
