This has been a wonderful place to stay. The staff is SO Friendly and SO welcoming. The onsen are great and very easy to reserve. Sitting in an onsen under the stars-priceless! Got to see a koto performance for FREE and had a talk with the owner. Love this place. Would recommend highly.

We chose Fuji-Hakone based on reviews that said it was a good inn for foreign tourists. The staff were lovely and welcoming and spoke English well. They even told us about venues and tour routes of Hakone we wouldn't have otherwise known about! The rooms were a good size, and we enjoyed the traditional tatami mat rooms with futons and... More

After experiencing the Hokane Tozan train from odawara to Gotemba and the Hakone open air museum at Chokokunomori (just jump off train to Gotemba at this stop), I headed off to the Fuji Hakone guesthouse from “Gotemba station” by taking “W” line bus towards Togendai (桃源台) which goes directly to“Senkyoro-mae(仙郷楼前)” bus stop. It takes about 20 minutes by bus. The... More

We had an awesome stay at the Fuji-Hakone Guest House, I recommend it to anyone interested in Japan’s scenic Fuji-Hakone area. The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. When I arrived, the hostess planned an informative and detailed itinerary with map to see the local attractions. After sight seeing, relaxing in the onsen hot spring was the perfect... More

Friendly and adequate budget ryokan choice, with a good system of managing the timetable for the indoor and outdoor bath so that you can book a slot a day in advance. The breakfast is ok - bread, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and boiled eggs. I would have preferred a Japanese breakast, however simple, to enhance the ryokan experience, albeit low-budget.

We stayed for just one night at the guest house. The owner and staff are lovely and the rooms are very comfortable. The big bonuses of staying here are without a doubt the outdoor private onsen and the buffet breakfast (we really took advantage and filled up before a big day of walking). Great value!

My husband and I stayed here our last 2 nights after 17 days in Japan. It was the most expensive lodging during our holiday and as such we expected more for our money.... Pros: The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. They spoke good English and had a lot of maps and restaurant suggestions. The outdoor and indoor onsens were... More

I stayed at the Fuji-Hakone guest house for one night and my only regret is that I couldn't stay for longer! The directions were perfect and I found it no problem. I only had 1 day in Hakone and I arrived around midday so was concerned that I would not be able to do all I wanted in the Hakone... More

No particular problem with this lodging, but if we describe everything as good, then there is no such thing as average. The hospitality and practical assistance were fine, and the owners friendly, but it felt a bit more like a hostel rather than a full guesthouse, with a lot of people sharing the facilities. The location did not seem a particularly... More

We only stayed here for 1 night as part of the Hyper Japan J-Pop & Go tour with inside Japan. The staff were fabulous and attentive. Food at breakfast was lovely. The girls on our trip even took a traditional onsen bath together. Easily my favourite accommodation on the tour. They also have a glass cabinet of treasures from people... More
