The staff at the guest house were lovely, but very slow. It took us 40 minutes to check in- just to leave our bags there. Then when we returned to collect the key and put our bags in the room, my Dad had to wait for an hour- they had seen him and spoken to him, so they knew he... More

We covered a lot of grounds and stayed at some lovely places in Japan, but this guest house was our highlight. What lovely and helpful family who looked after us. Very comfortable accommodation; we had the room with a private toilet and basin which was fantastic value. A nice location, away from the main road, near enough to some nice... More

From the very start, we were impressed by the diligence and hospitality of this family-run guesthouse. The family are very, very welcoming, and have plenty of advice about the Hakone area: we felt right at home from the minute we stepped in. The highlights were our wonderful tatami room, comfy futons, the free Japanese tea in the cosy sitting room,... More

I loved this place. We arrived around lunch time - we should have got there earlier really but we were dawdling as usual... - I would recommend getting to Hakone earlier if you can as there is a lots to see and it's a beautiful place to be if the weather is good. The young guy checked us in -... More

This was a lovely place to base ourselves for 2 nights. More like a cross between a hostel and B&B. Staff are incredibly friendly and so helpful. There are two onsen - one indoor and one outdoor. Onsen is booked by the half hour. Free wifi throughout. Breakfast is simple - cereal, toast, eggs etc. Lawson store literally 30 seconds... More

We stayed here for 1 night and what a wonderful place. The owners were friendly, helpful and most welcoming and the place was really relaxing. Our room had futon's, with traditional kimono and pyjama's provided. The futons were the most comfortable I have ever tried and the room was warm and traditionally decorated with wood/paper panels and a wonderful small... More

Delightful staff with a feel of a cross between a ryokan and a hostel. The bedroom was traditional Japanese with extremely comfortable futon bedding . Everything was neat and very clean with shared toilet and shower facilities and a washer and dryer if you wanted to catch up on your laundry. There are two delightful onsens which you can book...
