This traditional style hotel is set in surrounding golf courses and mountains. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A feature of the place are the traditional style rooms and sleeping mats. While we enjoyed the outdoor bath and the special banquet it can become uncomfortable after a couple of days when there are no chairs to sit on in... More

5 of us stayed here in 2 traditional Japanese style rooms. When you are at dinner they set up your mats for you. It's very clean & staff is accolades ting. Rooms are spacious. Fridge, bath, room safe, sunken table & another floor level table, also store with snakes & alcohol. The Japanese bath was fun & relaxing. There is... More

My wife and I wanted to experience a "real" Japanese style evening and night. We were exceptionally happy in this hotel. From the welcome at the reception (even though English is almost not spoken) to the very tasty and high quality Japanese diner. The personnel was always paying extremely attention to all details. I personally also experienced the "Japanese" style... More

The Yunohana Onsen Hotel is off the beaten path in the mountains near Mt. Fuji. We did not have any difficulty find this hotel but not because we are well-versed in Japanese or use of trains. We had purchased this hotel as part of a package overnight tour from Tokyo which included a day trip to Mt. Fuji, a taxi... More

We really enjoyed the experience. I agree with other travelers...it was hard to find and we were on foot from the bus stop. All in all great experience. I loved the dinner. The breakfast is traditional japanese (fish! seaweed!)...It was cooked well, just important to remember this if you are not much of a fish-in-the-morning person. The onsen was really... More

DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL: - The only problem we had with the Onsen Hotel was finding it. So if you are an English speaker staying at Yunohana, please read these directions! - We bought Hakone "free passes" (not free in cost, but allow you to get on and off almost all transit in the area for the days it's valid, including... The Bathtub is small but the quality of the hot spring is wonderful. (Milky Onsen) When the sky is clear you can observe beautiful stars. The room is a japanese style room with tatami. The quality of the room is average and you shouldn't inspect every corner of the room because it's obvious that the building is old. However the... More
