Clean, quiet hotel by Ashinoko. Probably built in the 80s, with all the bells and whistles of the era. Attentive service and staff that made a great effort to communicate in English. My biggest mistake was to order a massage on the room. Worst massage I ever had, not kidding. And expensive too at Y7000 yen.

We spent several nights at this hotel over Christmas and it was a delight. The chef is a genius and each meal was a symphony of flavour and appearance, charmingly served by waitresses who knew and understood what they were serving. The rooms are large and many have wonderful views over the lake. If you are lucky you might even... More

I had the fortune of staying at this location during a recent business trip to Japan, and I had a GREAT stay! Although I cannot speak to the hotel's proximity to other sights, I did find the hotel and its onsite shops and amenities to be quite nice. The views Mt. Fuji and the lake are absolutely spectacular! I'd certainly... More

Amazing room - all extravagant needs and more catered for. Awsome view of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji from my room. Onsen was an absolute pleasure and just what the tired body needed before a magnificent banquet - food, drink and service very high quality. Such beautiful surrounds and a very relaxing time.

Let's starts with some of the good things. We enjoyed having the onsen downstairs. There was an outdoor one and it was nice to soak in the onsen amidst the winter air. The staff are very good. We had a quadruple room and it was spacious. We have a great view of Lake Ashi. Grounds are nice. The transport however... More

very good shuttle service to and from the hotel at Odawara station. Hotel was spacious and though dated was comfortable. We wanted to change one room and was accommodated. The included dinner at Nadaman Japanese restaurant was good. Food allergy was accommodated as well . The manager showed us a picture that was taken the weekend before with a snow-capped Mount... Expensive but very big and beautiful. To my pleasant surprise, even shampoo quality is good... my hair becomes very smooth. Onsen... I really enjoyed it. everything is perfect for me... Except they should check the standard of the restaurant(I chose Japanese restaurant) in the Resort as for guests who do not drive, we got no choice but to eat in... More

Our experience at the Prince Hakone Hotel (Annex) was probably in exceptional circumstances as we arrived with the front of Typhoon Phafone. So this review is as much about the hotels inability to deal appropriately with non Japanese speaking guests in an exceptional situation as its amenity. We arrived at just after 5.00pm by bus after driving all day through... More
