This hotel is great if you are looking for a little get-away from the city in the beautiful surroundings of Hakone. We stayed a couple of nights and visited the area. The spa is excellent, it features an indoor and outdoor pool. The setting is quite stunning and the restaurant, albeit dear, was excellent. The only problem is that the... More

As a group of 4 friends travelling around Japan for the first time, we stayed 3 days at this resort back in November 2010. From the moment we arrived from Tokyo and was picked up by the resort's shuttle bus, we knew an exciting time was to come. The drive up into the mountain takes about an hour and was... More

we stayed here 1 night. rooms clean, nice, comfortable. But mostly the grounds of the hotel are by a lake the you can see the Fuji. We had clear skies and woke up to see beautiful white Fuji in from of us. We took a warm baths again so nice and clean. Right near the hotel there is a cable... More

The Prince Hakone sits right on Lake Ashi facing Mount Fuiji. It's a bit old and chintzy and the restaurant menus are limited plus there's no bar. Rooms are old-fashioned but very spacious. It probably has the most character of all the Hakone hotels but if you want to be nearer the main attractions, the Hakone Hotel is better situated.... More

This is a beautiful hotel in a spectacular site, with excellent service. The Japanese restaurant us hands down superior to the 'French' one, with an excellent breakfast and a wonderful dinner menu. The view of mt Fuji on a clear day is spectacular. My only complaint is the lack of wifi anywhere but in the lobby close to the checkin... More

This is undoubtedly a 'high end' hotel but it is getting somewhat dated and the service in the French restaurant was the poorest I experienced in Japan. The staff actually seemed confused as to what was expected of them. The set dinner was good with a excellent steak, although overall it could have done with more generosity on the portion... More

That day was very raining so we got to the Hotel very wet. The reception english is poor. The attitude is very bad. We explaind... More

Mt. Fuji view being a big plus, Indoor+Outdoor Onsen makes it special. The only hotel which was spacious & had amazing views. The Spa adds to the list of things to do at this site, couple restaurants and shopping as well... Overall great value for money!

Beautiful hotel with a unique setting. Mt Fuji is quite visible from our balcony. A natural hot springs in the hotel is a major attraction. A really unique experience. The hotel also sits on a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. There is a majestic character that surrounds the place. Certainly a nice family stop.

... it needs some improvements. On the plus side, its location on the shores of Lake Ashi is superb. Very quiet and peaceful. Select a Mt Fuji view room. From the balcony, you'll have a breathtaking view of Mt Fuji and the Lake. Also do select a room in the West Wing (less walking and closer to the Western Restaurant... More
