Beautiful Japanese ryokan in Hakone, we stayed in a room with private onsen and view over the mountain. The hotel ground and room have nothing to fault, the bed is really comfortable and the dinner & breakfast were amazingly delicious. We spent only 1 night there but I wished that we had stayed longer.

This is a lovely property with very helpful and delightful staff who make you feel extremely welcome. It's a wonderful experience to stay here and very cool to put your Yukata on and look out from your room at the mountains .This would be a five star review but myself and my wife found the dinner and breakfast hard going.... This is a beautiful property and quite an experience. We had a semi-suite, which is the largest hotel room I have ever seen in my life. I can’t but wonder what a “full suite” looks like! Dinner was a 13 course meal, but we could only make it through 10 of them. Breakfast itself was 10 courses! The private open... More

The trek to Hakone did not disappoint even though volcanic activity closed the tram near the hotel that usually takes visitors to the lake. The hotel is calm and luxurious feeling with amenity-rich rooms. Ours had a nice deck overlooking the mountains and a private hot tub we could control the temperature for. Beds are raised off the floor and... More

My wife and I just stayed there and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. The staff was extremely friendly who tried everything they could to make sure we were happy. Room was awesome with a great view(it was the japanese style room with open-air bath). You gotta get that private onsen. It's nice to get in till you're too... More

This is certainly one way of experiencing authentic Japan. A nice welcome and lots of explanation - some in English and some in Japanese - from our charming 'maid'. We loved the (very) hot tub on our balcony; we were a bit less keen on sleeping on futons. We had a lovely view of the mountains. The dining experience was... More

I visited Gora Hanaougi with my sister. Possibly a mistake. I'd rate it very much a couples destination. The service is impeccable. The rooms immaculate. The private onsen was ace. They have the BEST toilets in Japan! The food was possibly a little inaccessible for me even though I am a pretty adventurous eater! So perhaps beware of this point.... More

It's a pity that we only had one night stay in Gora Hanaougi. It's a fantistic Ryokan in Hakone area. We managed to go to the hotel by ourselves, and then found out that actually the hotel can pick up the guest at Gora station. Even though, we did not have any problem of reaching it. After check-out, the receptionist... More

We chose Gora Hanaougi as we would like to have our private onsen. We are very pleased with our room which come with a great view and we can really enjoy our bath. With the light drizzle it is really peaceful and relaxing. The 13 course dinner took about 2 hours, it is very enjoyable and the server provide great... More

This ryokan is absolutely first class. We didn't have the most expensive room but it was wonderful. We had a view over the mountains and a balcony with our own hot tub, supplied by the onsens (hot springs) in the area. There is little English spoken here but the staff were delightful and made every effort to ensure that our... More
