The rooms are large for Japan, the beds very comfortable with amazing views of Mount Fuji. That would normally be more than enough to give it a great rating but the service let it down massively. There are so many rules and regulations here it was a bit over bearing at times. Breakfast was included but the times seem to... More

Very nice location, far from the crowd but close to the sightseeing. You can see the Fuji mountain from the window. Room is clean and nice. Food is delicious. I want to give my apprecation and the best comments to the staff. I wrote them a lot of email before got there due to the earthquake. They always replies in... More

Most people go to Hakone mainly to see Mount Fuji. However, it is so hard to see since it will only be visible either in the early morning or evening time. This is exactly what Fujimien Hotel has to offer! When we were there, the weather was mostly cloudy. However, we did see Mount Fuji during both during early morning... More

Just as previous reviewers have claimed, this Lodge is welcoming and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent, and is included in the price. It feels like Fujimien is set alone in the countryside, even though it's very close to the area attractions. From the rooms, dining room and Wi-Fi room there are gorgeous views of the valley. Periodically, the clouds would part... More

We arrived to Hakone on the train from Tokyo. From there, we made the easy transfer to the "T line" bus. Hotel Fujimien is near the end of the line, and it's a fun and scenic ride up there. The bus stops right in front of the hotel. If you are unsure, just ask the bus information center at the... More

Great location! We booked Lodge Fujimien with their claim that the rooms overlook Mt. Fuji. We arrived in Hakone on a foggy afternoon, and the sky cried at night... Then morning came... and as soon as I heard the birds singing, I hurriedly opened the curtains and voila "Ohayō gozaimasu, Fujisan" indeed! Mt. Fuji view can be enjoyed from the... More

Fujimein Hotel is a quiet, isolated lodge located close to many landmarks. Close to where the Lake Ashi ferry and Hakone Ropeway. The bus stop is right outside and is serviced by two main lines, one for Hakone station and the other Gotemba station. The hotel is a bit old, but has a classic charm. I stayed in a traditional... wonderful little ryokan, great relaxing views, great onsen, good food, nice rooms. cons - no wifi in rooms, everyone was holding their phones in the hallways. The front desk closes at 10pm, had to rush one night to get back (you have to leave the keys at the front desk when you go out in the morning)

My wife and I stayed here in early June 2015. We travelled on the Bullet train from Tokyo station (platform 19, however check as this may change). It took approximately 50 mins to get to Odawara Station. We then got on the T-Line (Blue) bus Number 4. The stop you get off at is called Minami-Oncenso, the hotel is then... More

Being Hakone a big circular place with many spots it can be hard to chose where to settle for one or two days. The best things to see are the ropeway that goes up to the mountains where wild hot springs are and the cruise over the lake Ashi. Both departure places to these activities are at just 3 bus...
