We had such a great experience at Fujimien. One of the highlights of our 2 week trip in Japan. We took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Odawara (we had the Japan Rail pass) and bought a Hakone free pass at the Odawara station (4000 yen per person). Getting from the Odawara station to the hotel was very easy. We took... More

I decided to stay a night at Hakone due to the Hakone 2 day free pass. After surfing for budget ryokan in Hakone machi, i found this hotel. I checked in to ground floor. The room was big with a terrace and toilet in the room, but the shower will be onsen. My room can view Mt Fuji clearly. Great... More

Everything at Fujimien approaches the level of quality of much more expensive Ryokan at a fraction of the cost and most of the atmosphere. The most important feature is the location and the view: if normally ryokans are wedged at the bottom of a narrow valley with limited light and views (for proximity to onsen hot water springs), this one... My wife and I recently had a chance to stay at this little hotel. We took the JR Shinkansen train to Odawara Station. There we obtained the Hakone Free Pass and boarded a small local train, switched to a tram, then a cable car, then a ropeway (gondola), and finally a bus to get there. As we were in peak... More

Me and my wife stayed at Fujimien during the autumn, and the view from the room's balcony was amazing, we could even see the snowed mount Fuji. Breakfast at the hotel was good. There is not wi-fi in the rooms but there is a wi-fi area in the lobby. The hotel is a 10-15 minutes walk to a beautiful lake where... More

This hotel is conveniently located in front of a Bus Stop (Hakone Tozan T Line) that has a direct connection to Hakone-Yumoto Station, which then connects you to the wider Japanese train network. Unsurprising for areas outside of major metropolitan Japan, the staff had hesitant English, but there were English translations of almost everything available. All rooms apparently looked towards... Great Japanese experience. Traditional room with low table, futon beds and sliding doors. Rooms also have a balcony and seating area with Mount Fuji view and an ensuite. Separate male and female onsens are also available. Fairly easy to access from hakone - the hakone cable car goes within walking distance of the hotel ( about 15mins - bus also... More

Public bath is good with Fuji mountain view as promised. Japanese style room has good size. Dinner and breakfast are delicious but only serve at 6pm for dinner. You can walk to the lake Ashi but for other attractions you need to take Hakone Tozan bus. If you come from Tokyo by train, get off at the Odawara station and... More

This hotel has a great view to Mt Fuji. Japanese style room is really nice, onsen bath is also good, staffs are nice & helpful. However, to reach this lodge is a little bit hard. You take shinkansen from Tokyo Station by JR line: Tokyo station -> Odawara station 90 minutes by JR Toukaido Line or 40 minutes by JR... More
