In April 2014, we stayed here for one night en route from Kawaguchiko to Mishima. Pretty comfy and basic place to stay which was thoroughly welcomed in the cold/wet day we arrived.. Luckily this place was quite easy to find with the gps built into hired car, and free car parking out front is handy. The experience of making our... More

The hotel is correct, but to expensive for the quality of the building. The hall seems an hospital one. The moquette is old, dirty and smells tabacco. The wifi is only for one floor, doesn't have hability in every room. We stayed in a japanese room and it was nice with the simplicity traditional japanese, but the cupboard were dirty.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. I got the Japanese style room because you have to experience that. It is somewhat of a hybrid Ryokan, but you get an authentic Japanese experience if you pick the Japanese style rooms. It's a 1 stop bus ride from Odawara, but make sure you buy the Hakone Free Pass. It's an almost 14 dollar... More

I really enjoy this Japanese style hotel. The hotel is quite far in the mountains. Their instruction to the hotel can be quite confusing. Actually, getting there is very simple. We went from Tokyo to Odawara by JR. When got into Odawara, walk outside to the bus station and take the T Bus according to the hotel instruction. Make sure... More

Fujimien is more a small hotel rather than a true traditional ryokan. It was ideal for us because we wanted a peaceful, quiet place where we could sit on our balcony and enjoy the view of Mt Fuji. It is a 50 min bus ride from Odawara station and far from the noisy, touristy "downtown". The moment you alight from... More

i stayed for one night at the lodge fujimien. it seems complicated to get to but it is directly at a bus stop that runs on the hakone free pass so it really was easy to find. the location is remote although a short walking distance (or even shorter bus ride) to the hakone loop, so i really loved it.... We went to Hakone around mid April and ended up staying in Lodge Fujimien. It's a nice cosy little ryokan more akin to a small hotel than an actual ryokan. The public baths area affords a nice view of the surrounding countryside though you won't be able to see Fuji from the baths. My take: - A great bang for... More

After travelling across japan for 2 weeks this was our last port before we flew back.. So maybe we were spoilt by the other Ryokans and hotels we'd stayed at - but I think this place has so much more potential than it delivers. For the price we paid, I expected a lot more. The room was pretty similar to... More

I stayed here for a night with my family in my trip to Hakone. I would definitely recommend this place to my friend as every rooms have Mount Fuji view. You can also see Mount Fuji in the female public bath area. The dinner and breakfast is delicious.

This is the place to be when you want to experience the real Japanese life style : sleeping on a futon in the tatami room, sitting on your knees in your room to sip some Japanese green tea, wearing your yukata, taking pictures with it, and when you're tired of taking all these pictures, scrubbing yourself clean and soak away...
