After travelling across japan for 2 weeks this was our last port before we flew back.. So maybe we were spoilt by the other Ryokans and hotels we'd stayed at - but I think this place has so much more potential than it delivers. For the price we paid, I expected a lot more. The room was pretty similar to... More

I stayed here for a night with my family in my trip to Hakone. I would definitely recommend this place to my friend as every rooms have Mount Fuji view. You can also see Mount Fuji in the female public bath area. The dinner and breakfast is delicious.

This is the place to be when you want to experience the real Japanese life style : sleeping on a futon in the tatami room, sitting on your knees in your room to sip some Japanese green tea, wearing your yukata, taking pictures with it, and when you're tired of taking all these pictures, scrubbing yourself clean and soak away... Catching the RomanceCar Hakone Train is very exciting and a bit like going on the Polar Express. The guards wear hats like virtual Tom Hanks, with RomanceCar written on the front and offer to let you try them on for photos. All of its signage throughout Shinjuku Station is pink and so are the trains! Buy a bento box and... More

Fujimien is a great Traditional Inn with unbelievable Mt. Fuji view. If you arrive at Odawara JR station, there is a bus that takes you in 60 minutes right in front of the hotel (one way around 1100 yen, but I would recommend to buy a Hakone Free Pass) We had Mt Fuji view from our room, from the restaurant... This ryokan has a rustic feel in the best sense. The breakfast spread was nice and the Kaiseki dinner was tasty! No showers at all in the room so you will definitely need to go to the onsen, but it was so worth it when you get to see Mount Fuji as you soak! Room was clean and spacious, and... More

We (family of 4) stayed for a night here last week when Hakone received its first (early) snow of the year. It was a great experience especially for the children to walk and play in a snow fall. Our stay was comfortable as the onsen is great and the room a fairly good size and comfortable. Too bad we could... More

Our family of 3 pre-teens/teens stayed in this delightful ryokan (our first ever) & totally enjoyed it. The staff gave the kids a slightly larger room & the futons were comfortably & spaciously laid out. The onsen baths were clean & even my kids ventured in despite initial reservations. The daily kaiseki dinners were awesome & the menu is changed... More

I'm travelling with my family and my husband is a vegetarian. Usually when we go to ryokan, it is very difficult to change their meal menu as it is sort of pre-arranged for all guests (advance booking is required). However, the staff here is so kind to arrange a special vegetarian kaiseki dinner set for my hubby and let me... More

Fujimien is more like a hotel than a true ryokan. It is clean, rooms was nice and comfortable, and food was excellent. On a good day, excellent views of Mt. Fuji are offered. Sitting in downstairs onsen looking at Mt. Fuji was memorable. Bus trip to Fujimien was interesting, lots of stops. Would stay again.
