My first experience of removing the shoes before entering the lobby and i liked it. The whole hotel area no shoes :-) We have the in room open air bath and i like the western japanese style.. In room kimonos ,tatami, etc But I prefer more international buffet for the breakfast.

Having experienced more traditional ryokans in Japan, this hotel in Hakone really lived up to our expectations. The facade may seem a little dated but the interiors are better than expected. We always expected the rooms in Japan to be smaller than average so we booked two family rooms which could've accommodated 8 adults but there were only four of... More

Modern decor and equipped with all you would require. Photos appeared in the website seems larger than the real thing but still good for a one night stay. Wifi is available and also free which seldom to see that in many Ryokans. Dinner was good but not as fabulous as many others which I visited in the area. I tried... More

The reason we booked this hotel: that it has a private onsen on each guest room balcony and it's located within few minutes walk to bus stop and cable car station. The hotel is very clean, obviously well maintained. No shoes or sandal is allowed within the hotel premise. We need to take off our shoes, keep it at the... More

I've booked a room with private onsen, tatamis as well as normal beds. You will need to remove your shoes before entering the hotel and go barefoot everywhere in the hotel. But no worries, the hotel is very clean and I love their huge room! Initially I was quite sore that Hakone transport don't run late (most of them stops... More
