I stayed in Mount View Hakone for 1 night in May. We had a very large room incl. diner & breakfast. The hot spring pool was very nice and clean. For only € 15,- we booked a private hot tub for 45 minutes which is recommended if you want to relax. The food was very very nice and tipically Japanese.... More

Well I was slowing myself down, this being the penultimate place before coming home. It took around 1 hour by bus from Odawara station to the hotel being right next door to the Sengokuhara-bunka-center-mae bus stop. Get the bus marked T. Get a Hakone Pass which will save you in the long run. I was here for 3 days half... More

The day after I booked from Booking.com, I received an email writing in Chinese showing to me how to get to the hotel and something important in details. It's so warm!! This hotels provides both dinner and breakfast. I have thought that traditional Japanese food was delicate and little so that before I went to the dining room, I ate... More

An amazing find. Location is right in the heart of all of the museums, moments away from Lalique Museum and The LIttle Prince and a mere footsteps to the bus that takes you to all of the rest. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly including the women (in my case) that show you all of the basics of your room... More

The staff was helpful all the time and we are most pleased with the service! As expected of a Ryokan, we had a hearty Japanese style dinners and breakfasts and had the chance to wear Yukata. Not all the dishes were fantastic though but it is still fairly good food. We had good private Onsen for 2000 yen. It is... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mount View. It is geared toward foreigners and foreigner-friendly: I don't think any Japanese people were staying there. Although this would normally bother me (not to be surrounded by locals), since my husband and I were on our honeymoon and do not speak Japanese, we were happy that it was easy to communicate... This hotel is an odd mix between a traditional ryokan and a modern hotel, which may suit those new to the experience of staying in Japanese inns but will disappoint those who like the ryokan experience. Rooms are spacious and clean and food is the usual (good) ryokan fare, although even my Japanese companions found the traditional breakfasts a challenge.... More

Just stayed in early June. The first traditional Japanese hotel we have ever stayed. Great experience and very helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast were impressive! I didn't sleep too well but that might due to the horrible rain... The private bath was tiny but private and peaceful. It was unfortunate that all local transport have stopped on our leaving date... The place is nearby bus stop, nice and clean room. There's Yukata outfit that we can use while stay there, the food is tasty and delicious, and they have indoor and outdoor onsen that we can use to soak whole body. So perfect as remedy of tiredness after do city tour in Hakone. The staff is really helpful, provide us... More

I visited this friendly ryokan/hotel in April. It was sprinkling rain when I arrived and pouring rain when I left, but I still loved it. I have been to the Hakone area many times and it is a favorite of mine if you just have a day or two for a side trip from Tokyo using public transportation. This hotel... More
