We booked a Japanese room, our first ryokan experience and it was a good one. Getting there was a bit of challenge, mainly because of our luggage and the walking distance. This is THE good value solution in Hakone, near Hakone Yumoto. our first experience of a ryokan - room was good, dressing up for the extraordinary meals was good fun and the onsen was excellent. also a very good location to do the hakone sights. pleasant walk into town from which train and bus to everything you want to do.

My husband and I loved staying at this pension. It was very clean, and had a beautiful and relaxing onsen spa which was spotless right next door. The pictures are exactly what you get. Hakone is famous for its hot springs and expensive hotels, and Hakonemori Okada is one that offers excellent value for money.
