No frill no thrill tourist class hotel. It's behind the bigger and newer Okada Hotel. Size of room is ok. We booked the Western style twin sharing plan with breakfast and dinner. It has on suite bathroom with bath tub. Our room was on the third floor which is linked to the onsen building by a bridge. Extremely convenient for... More

Room was quite big (japanese twin room). You have a tatami-area and also two beds so you can choose to sleep in a futon or in a conventional bed. Room was clean, and calm. We also had dinner and breakfast included. We went from Europe, so breakfast was completely different for us: fried sardine, boiled eggs, algae, rice.... For dinner... More

Hard to find worthy place to stay in Hakone area. And Hakonenomori is a rare gem. It is a pention house actually run by the 5 star hotel near it, Okada hotel. You can experience a ryokan style accomodation, amazing dinner and breakfast provided. An unforgettable dining experience. The food is totally a homemade and traditional one. Trust me. You... More

Here are very important reminders, before even getting naked in the dressing room: (1) never rinse your towel in the bath or even let it touch the water. (2) Place the towel on top of your head while in the water. (3) If you have tattoos, sorry it's a big NO (can't bath), use the hotel bathroom... :-) (4) You... More

This hotel’s accommodation, service and food standards are reflective of the 3-star rating. My family of 4 stayed in “mixed” room – half of the room had twin beds and the other half was Japanese tatami mat style. The tatami mats had small stains but otherwise the futons, bedsheets, toilet, glasses were clean. What bothered us was the distinct stale... More

When I took a day trip to Hakone from Tokyo by the express train, I only had several hours to go to a hot spring. This place was recommended by the lady at the information desk in the Hakone station. It was an amazing experience. I took a cab to this place. It was after I tried to take a... More

We slept on futon/tatami in a shared room, with our own bathroom/shower/toilet. Room bad a small fridge, water boiler, cups, teapot/mugs... basically everything you need. They provided yukata, which you can wear around the hotel/ryokan if you choose. Rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels and toothbrushes etc. Staff were pleasant and polite, and pretty helpful. I'm really excited to... More

My friend and I stayed two nights at this onsen near the end of our trip to Japan. We stayed in a western-style room, which I thought was fairly spacious compared to some of places we stayed during the rest of our trip. Access to YUNOSATO OKADA was the highlight of the stay. On the women’s side, there was a... More

We booked a Japanese room, our first ryokan experience and it was a good one. Getting there was a bit of challenge, mainly because of our luggage and the walking distance. You have to take the shuttle bus service (100 yen / pax), Route A, at the train station. Tell the driver the name of the hotel you're going to.... More

This is THE good value solution in Hakone, near Hakone Yumoto. Given that a visit to the area is highly recommended, the Mori No Akari offers the possibility to stay in a traditional tatami room at a reasonable price (some 100 EUR for a double). Our room was fairly big and very clean with a nice window facing the sourronding... More
