We chose this as one of the most affordable ryokans in the Hakone area. It was very close to Gora station, although we had a bit of trouble finding it. When you exit the station, go out the exit facing the shops, not the one facing the direction of the closed street leading away and parallel to the train tracks.... More

The Chiyodaso had decent, if plain tatami rooms - and very efficient maids who came in before we even left for the onsen to lay the futons in double-quick time. Amazing to watch - they've got their routine down to a T! The futons were very comfortable and probably ranked among the best sleep we've had in our 10 days... More

We stayed in this well located ryokan for one night. It felt like a real Japanese experience - we liked being the only foreigners there. The highlight is the onsen (there is outdoor, indoor and private), and the experience of wearing your yukata throughout the property, including dinner. The kaiseki (served in a dining room) is decent. There is minimal... More

Stayed one night at Hakone chiyodaso and it was a good experience. It is actually well located, not far from Gora station. The map on their website is not the clearest, when you step out of the station, look for the small underground passage on your right then keep walking straight for 4-5 mins. The hotel will be on your... More

My family of 4 stayed in this hotel on Christmas Eve and we enjoyed it very much. The distance from the Gora station is relatively close although you have to walk through a short underpass before going up a slope to reach the place. The main entrance looks very modern although the lobby was very quiet. Service at the reception... More

Love this ryokan for almost everything it has to offer. A pity we only stayed for one night. The Japanese set dinner was delicious. The room on tatami is authentic Japanese feel, value-added with mount Fuji view. Love it! Quiet and pleasant!

Chiyodaso is very well located, within walking distance from Gora station. The rooms were very clean and in a traditional Japanese style, so you would be sleeping on a futon on the floor. Staff come in to efficiently lay the futon though which was interesting to see. There is a seperate male and female communal hot bath, each with an... More

Pros: New building but with rooms in traditional style, with nice and warm rooms Very quiet - great if you're seeking peace Older clientale means less chance of rowdy guests Kaiseki dinner is excellent - and very creative too Only a few minutes walk from the station Rooms are really big and spacious Check-in staff speaks good English Cons: Outdoor...
