We stayed in the 'Japanese-style family room' which is spacious for the 4 of us with all the amenities we needed, except wifi (free wifi is provided downstairs at the lounge). Limited English proficiency on behalf of some of the staff was not a problem at all, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The Kaiseki dinner was great and... More

The twin room was very spacious, clean and pleasant with a balcony. The Kaiseki dinner was great: also, side dishes of delicious snow crab, Japanese beaf (Wagyu) or abalone can be added by just 1,500 yen. Breakfast was good as well. And the total cost was inexpensive (23,000 yen). There is no private bath in each room but the public... More

For the most part, we enjoyed overnight stay here. The evening meal was excellent as was breakfast in the morning. Our only real issue was ordering a non-smoking room then finding a strong aroma of stale cigarette smoke when we checked in. The room was average though our outside tub was a very nice adder. The staff was friendly and... More

Our night that we spent here was quite disappointing. The rooms, yes are very large even for Western standards, with a large balcony. However the condition of the rooms left a lot to be desired. It's quite run down and old and definitely needs a renovation and a spruce up. I felt that the rooms were quite dirty. There were... More

Hotel is just about 5 - 10 minutes from the JR Train station, however, it's all uphill. So better to get the hotels phone number before coming to Gora, so when you are at the train station, you can call them for a free shuttle pick up at the station. (cost is 10yen to make call from public phone). Hotel... More

Wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, beautiful breakfast! We arrived at the hotel early, they happily stored our luggage. When we returned after a long day, they had put our luggage in our room...top top service! The room was very spacious, large balcony and a good sized bathroom. Beds were comfy and very quiet and free wifi in reception. We didn't use... More

The hotel is close to the gora station, but a steep climb uphill. Rooms are nice & spacious ,the pickup service was prompt While checking in. But if you have the first train to catch Which is at 8 am. The shuttle will not be available until 9 am . Only Japanese breakfast & dinner service on advance booking. Wifi is... More

After a long trip up the mountain, we rolled our suitcases up a steep hill and were initially disappointed with the look of the Merveille. (You should get the shuttle bus - ring ahead or a cab or go one stop up the tram-car if you want to avoid the steep hill). In the end, we were incredibly impressed with... More

The staffs were very helpful, warm, and welcome. They picked up us at Gora station, when some one, Japanese, whom we asked the location of this hotel to,make a call to the hotel, because we did not know, the exact location. Room really clean, and wide enough. Onsen inside the hotel very comfortable, hotel also provide basket , to bring... More

We stayed in this hotel for Mt. Myojingatake - Mt. Kintoki hiking. This hotel is not that far (Maybe 5 to 10min walking) from the station, but you need to climb up a steep hill to get there. In case of having heavy luggage or raining, I would recommend to use their free shuttle service. There is a convenience store... More
