Only one night here as part of Riviera Tour. Lakeside location within walking distance of boat quay.Quiet , comfortable hotel with nice food [ local 'attractions; close early ] Good sized rooms and bahrooms. My 5th day in Japan and I now realise the whole country is spotlessly clean with no litter who and people are very hospitable and courteous

Hakone hotel had a roomy room with a pretty view. The breakfast buffet was standard for my family (good) but amazing for me with many vegan options! The beds were comfortable, the staff was very pleasant and so helpful with finding us things to do in Hakone (where to hike), storing our luggage after we checked out until we were... More

This magnificent hotel on the lakeside has all you would want on a tour of Japan. The austere frontage belies the facilities of the hotel. This was a two night stay at the end of a 13 day walking holiday and the walks in the surrounding area, the boat ride on the lake and the cable car trip was an... More

We only got to spend one night at this hotel as part of our touring holiday and both wished it had been a longer stay. Our room was huge by comparison with some of the other places we stayed and featured a bathroom/wet room almost the size of the entirety of some! As well as a well-equipped room featuring two... We arrived by pirate ship for 1 nights stay, the weather was fantastic and the hotel which at first appeared a little industrial was in fact excellent. Rooms were spacious and all faced the lake. Excellent early morning views of mount Fuji. Restaurant provided good evening meal and would recommend you try the hot Sakki, really good.breakfast quite adequate not... More

I agree with another reviewer that this hotel looks stark from the outside, however the room was lovely, as was the bathroom. As part of our tour we had breakfast and evening meal included. As in all hotels and most restaurants I struggled as a vegetarian to find much worth eating. Even soups tasted like meat or fish based. Views... More

Only stopped here one night in-between Tokyo and Kyoto. Staff were very helpful and polite, as per usual in Japan. Staff member showed me up to my room and showed me everything I needed to know. Lovely big room, with a bathroom that opens up, and a beautiful view of Lake Ashi. Clean and quiet. Free personal wifi. Comfortable bed.... More

very polite staff, clean rooms and nice view of lake Ashi. Reasonable dine in prices and good breakfast selection, but without variation if you stay longer. located right next to the pier for boat trip and on the road for the bus trip.

Background; we are travelling in Japan for 5 weeks and this was only our second hotel after a few nights in Tokyo. Arrival; we had a Hakone free pass and chose to arrive by boat (a tourist pirate ship but you still get great views). We were lucky to arrive in glorious sunshine. The hotel really does not look much... More

The hotel looks a bit old from the outside but very nice and clean inside. We love the private onsen and the view of Lake Ashi from our bedroom. We plan to visit again. Guests should be warned though that there are limited food options outside the hotel. And though dining inside the hotel is good, it can be quite... More
