The outside of the building is rather like a concrete bunker but this all changes when you get inside.Room was luxurious comfortable sitting area overlooking the lake, the bathroom was cavernous and well appointed. The food was tasty and well cooked.on the downside the free wifi is only available in the lobby and the tea/coffee in the rooms are chargeable.

Location It's my thrid time to Hakone and this is the best hotel I've ever stayed. It's just next to the Lake Ashi pier in less than 5-min walk and it has a number of local restaurants and shops nearby so dining outside shouldn't be a problem (in winter, you need to come early and dine early as shops closed... The selling point of this hotel is its view of Mt Fuji. It must be said though that not only does Mt Mikuni mostly obscure the lower reaches of Fuji from here (such that the classic outline of the mountain can only be imperfectly discerned) and that this is further than other resort areas such that Fuji appears smaller, but... Nice hotel which is more traditional than contemporary. it is extremely well located directly on the lake with outstanding views. Rooms are of good size. Although a winter trip with a bit of snow gardens are nice and photo's of grounds in summer looked outstanding. Food is pretty typical but it was good with a decent selection at breakfast.

At first, it may looked as if it's way out place, but actually, with the 3 days tourist pass, which includes unlimited rides on Tozan Buses, Cable cars, trains, trams, the pirate cruise... it all so sleek. The Hotel offers free shuttle from Odawa station, so if you are not interested in scrolling all the scenic spots, you actually can... More

Stayed for 2 night in November at this lovely hotel. My husband and I were picked up by the free hotel shuttle from Odawara at11.30am. The shuttle service made the journey easy and pleasant, but has to be pre-booked. Check-in was a breeze and the counter staff spoke adequate English. We were pleasantly surprised as we were upgraded to a... More

We stayed here for one night on a tour of Japan, this is not the most attractive looking hotel but it is in a fabulous place overlooking Lake Ashi. We were very fortunate to be allocated a suite which had a large bedroom area, lounge area, baloney overlooking the lake and a bathroom to die for. There doesn't' seem to... More

We stayed there for two nights (initially three but as we didn't like it we decided to move to Kyoto sooner) and let's say that we haven't been impressed by this hotel. Despite an excellent location and a pretty big room, all the rest was disappointing. Staff at the reception barley speak english which is not uncommon in Japan but... More

A wonderful resort like hotel near Lake Ashi, located 2 mins away from the last bus stop in Hakone. Direct buses available from Hakone-Yumoto / Odawara, takes around 40-50 mins to reach here. Great place to explore Lake Ashi and all the tourist places in Hakone Area including all ropeways, boat rides, cog wheel train, volcanic region in Owakudeni. If... More

Hotel is located near the fabulous view of lake ashi, with direct room views of the lake and mt fuji, if you are lucky onto spot her on a clear day. Love e spacious bathroom with great view of the lake. Service of staff is great. Free wifi available only at the lobby, which is good enough for me to... More
