The hotel itself was rather understated , but had comfortable, large rooms--and the view over lake Ashi was exquisite. When we awoke on our first morning, we were treated to a spectacular view of Mt Fugi just peaking out through the clouds. The mountain was on view the entire morning, and we are so thankful that digital photography is ours!... More

This hotel is comfortable and pretty well designed and renovated unlike the reviews stated it to be run down and old. The front of the hotel is nicely decorated, staff at the counter are well conversed in english allowing smooth and easy communication with both staff and guests. One point to note when making your booking online is, we booked... More

The Hakone hotel is perfect to stay in as a tourist for a few days while exploring the nearby Hakone/Fuji area. The view from the hotel is really splendid! Seeing fishermen on Lake Machi and Mt Fuji from your room in the morning is a real nice way to wake up. Check in was fast and efficient, like everywhere else... More

My fiance and I stayed at Hakone hotel for one night during a trip to Japan. The location is excellent. Right by the Hakone Machi sightseeing cruise pier and here is also a bus stop right outside the hotel. The hotel could do with a bit of TLC and redecorating inside and out. The rooms look a little dated but... More

The location of this hotel cannot be faulted. The view over Lake Ashii is stunning, and if you are as lucky as we were, and it is a clear day, you will be able to see an incredible view of Mt. Fuji from your room when you wake up in the morning. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the... More

Great location , just on the lake with direct view to Fuji-san. Few steps from the bus stop for both directions. 1 min walk from the ship across the lake. But - the hotel smells "old". And most of all the drinks are so expensive 1250 yen for a beer that cost everywhere 400-450 and 160 at 7/11. My wife... More

Hotel location was great as it is just right infront of the hakone machi bus stop. Great view from the room balcony too as it is facing the hakone lake and mt Fuji! Perfect for couple who are looking for honeymoon place. However, the room are quite aged which the management should really consider about renovation. Did not try their... More

On a lovely sunny day this hotel has a super location. The lake Ashi shimmers, the colourful modern pirate ships that travel the lake reflect well and mt Fuji can be visible with no cloud at all. All picturesque and just as we saw it on a one day visit before continuing our holiday to Hiroshima. So far so good. First... More

We stayed just one night here on a tour of the country. The location is perfect with the hotel sited on the edge of Lake Ashi with a clear view of the upper slopes of Mount Fuji. We chose a junior suite which featured a balcony with lake and mountain views. This was a generous, split-level room at 55 square... More
