Just started my visit in Kajikaso this afternoon and totally love the space and renovations - huge yet beautifully furnished rooms with fusion of tradition and modern comfort ! Got the room with private open onsen and western beds with additional family areas ! The in room kesaki dinner is fantastic with tuna belly and great seafood sashimi, wagyu steak... More

Looking to partake of the ryokan style accommodation my wife and I found ourselves here after a day sightseeing in the Hakone region. The instructions we had to locate this were not very clear but after some advice from helpful locals we found it tucked away in a small side street. Checking in we were escorted to our Japanese style... More

Building and neighborhood lack charm. Easy walk to train station. Typical onsen town with a jumble of unattractive architecture. Comfortable tatami-appointed rooms. Hot spring-fed baths, indoor and out. Foot bath overlooking river off lobby. Dinner and breakfast service in the room and were copious and nicely varied, the former even including puffer fish. Staff were highly professional, unpretentious, helpful and... More

It had a great Japanese style room enclose with private hotspring bath~! Public large hotspring bath room located on 2nd and 6th floor, but we didn't try since our room had private hotspring. It's an aged hotspring hotel but very well maintain! It remain clean and comfort! Dinner and breakfast include and serve in room! Very near to Hakone station... More

Stayed here with family and a group of friends. Largish, traditional Ryokan hotel, with large rooms, terrific public baths, and in-room soaking tubs if you’d prefer. From what I saw, there are a wide variety of different rooms, though all are appointed similarly, with a western-style sitting area, a Japanese eating / sleeping area with futons on tatami mats, a... nice view of the river, close proximity to the train station, nice atmosphere of the old, traditional japanese style of the hotel it is. the public bath on the 6th floor was big, nice with the nice Hinoki tree tubs. The view was splendid. since the bath was open until 1am, i got to enjoy the big big onsen all... More

Hotel was a little on the dated side, you could tell they haven't remodeled in a long time. Regardless, the Japanese-style rooms with tatami bedding were an awesome experience and made for a very good night's sleep. They lay the bedding out for you at night and pick it up in the morning, so nice! Our rooms included dinner and... More

This hotel was very authentic. We stayed in a Japanese style room with an ensuite/open air hot spring bath. Dinner and breakfast were served in our room. The food was very authentic, we even ate raw lobster!!! We didn't like all of the food, but we were very glad we tried it all. We slept on futons on the tatami... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night to experience a traditional Japanese ryoken experience. It was definately the traditional experience but very basic and the hotel really is a bit shabby, could definately use with updating. The walls are scuffed, the tables have scratches...it is too bad as I'm sure many years ago it was quite nice. The baths... More
