We stayed at the ANA Crowne Plaza Wakkanai for one night after returning from Rebun Island. The location is ideal, situated close to the ferry terminal, JR Wakkanai Station, and a Toyota Rent-a-Car office. If you are able to read Japanese, you can find better rates on the hotel's Japanese website than you can through English-language booking channels. Additionally, the... More

Yes - it looks dated, but relax, this is a great place to support your journey in Northern Hokkaido - located on the water, attached to a small park, next door to leisure centre including pool, a few minutes walk to places to eat (chose to not eat at the hotel), across the street from train station and close to... I stay there for one night after the Rebun Island. Walking distance to JR Station, pier, even for car rental companies. Hotel room is clean, big (compare with the hotel in Japan), internet is free, and fast. Hotel is 5 mins walk to JR station, u can find the supermarket, restaurants there, its very convenience. Staff can speak some English,... More

For only 15,000 IHG Club membership points, it offers Royal Suite Room (something that wasn't offered when the hotel was ANA hotel "without Crowne Plaza" brand). So, I stayed at a Royal Suite Room, 1103, for "only" 15,000 points - and the result was excellent - what an excellent bargain! Interior Decor: Crowne Plaza standard style: calm, elegant and luxurious.... More

This is a nice business hotel in the most northern city in Japan. The hotel cannot be faulted, the rooms are clean and big. It comes with the usual amenities. The only thing that I did not like about the room is that they do not have CNN or any international news stations. Wifi is available in the Lobby for... More

When I walked into this hotel, a quick 3 minute walk from the station, I felt like I had stepped back in time to the good ol' 80's The colours and decor all reminded me of Dynasty, for those of you who remember the TV series. The decor is extremely dated, with pastel colours and light wood. The place is... More

This hotel is not the only choice in Wakkanai (good alternative being the Dormy Inn), but it is the best. Only downsides: no pool. And no internet terminals! (that's how I found the Dormy Inn, where they provide free internet terminals in the lobby). Fantastic food in the lobby level restaurant. This could be Michelin-starred in Europe! For € 25... More
